@adhd-is Selfie time!!
For me, ADHD is people disbelieving me because I’m “too smart” to have the disorder.
ADHD is losing friendships because I say things without a filter.
ADHD is forgetting everything from homework to birthdays, and people telling you to write stuff down but then you forget to write it down.
ADHD is extreme sensory issues, and people thinking I’m being dramatic when something as simple as looking at a certain texture or music being a smidge too loud triggers me.
ADHD is constant disassociation and out-of-body experiences.
ADHD is not being able to sit still, annoying everyone around me by constantly playing with pencils, chewing gum, and especially bouncing my leg.
ADHD is the urge to talk constantly mixed with social anxiety, to the point where if I’m alone I feel I have no choice but to talk to myself, but when I’m with other people I feel exhausted.
On the other hand, ADHD is bursts of creativity. ADHD is a different thought process that leads to problems being solved in ways others hadn’t thought of. ADHD is a mind able to multitask, for worse or for better. And most importantly, ADHD is me.
