The Akillians
My thoughts on the design of the first team from Akiliana <3 I often think, what exactly was the life of a football team before the ice age? The concepts were created sometime in 2019~2020
me and my little ocs

Because @ourinquisitorialness asked, here's my Tav, cos ofc I'm on BG3... or trying to, anyway. Terrible screenshot cos the poor machine can't handle anything more intensive than this, unfortunately!
This is Adim (he/him). He's a High Elf Cleric of Kelemvor, the god of death, whose core doctrine is "Death is but a part of life: Fear it not, Evade it not, View it not as evil." I wanted to try putting characters from my original fantasy world Arlencaith into BG3, as I think the worlds function very similarly. So the premise is poor Adim has been isekai'd by mysterious means into Faerûn and has woken up in a strange and dangerous place.
But for his origin story:
Adim is his personal name, which he hasn't used in many centuries, ever since he became Arlendi Dominius IV, ruler of Arlencaith. Adim is born youngest to the already too large royal family, and is quickly plunged into the vicious war for the throne, raised to be a master of death magic to be the most formidable living weapon. Emerging the sole survivor after 200 years of bitter warfare, Dominius IV vows to never again let such bloodshed lay waste to the land. However, his reign is imperfect, and while he forged (or forced) a new age of reunification and peace, there are extremists who demand retribution for their systematic expulsion from society. A failed coup and nearly sucessful attempt to murder Dominius IV leaves him unfit to rule, and brutally stripped of all his powers. He is scarred, physically weakened, and has permanent hearing loss. Yet, this near death experience has proven -after a long journey of recovery- to be very liberating for him. He is, for the first time in his life, free of the expectations and responsibilities of governance, free to be his own person. After over 400 years, he can finally use his personal name, nearly forgotten- Adim. In the years after the coup, Adim is taking it slow working on his recovery, his newfound freedom to pursue personal hobbies, new friendships, and to his delight and greatest pride- being a grandfather.
Now that he's here in this new world, Adim is most surprised by his new physical form. He is physically stronger than he's ever been in his life. He has magic again, and he could weep for the familiarity of it. He has no language barrier, some miracle he wonders at constantly. But despite all the new wonders of this world, his heart is set to find his way back home, to Arlencaith, to his family.

It's been a lot of fun so far (I'm still in Act 1 lol) playing an older character in BG3, that Adim is probably the oldest companion in the group, Withers excluded. He does view some companions like his children. Like Karlach, oh he has such a soft spot for her.
Adim is soft-spoken, calm person, more interested in achieving the objective rather than going out of his way to help everyone. I think he leans Neutral Good. He's spent enough years killing, he'd prefer kindness over intimidation. I think Cleric of Kelemvor is a fitting choice for him. In Arlencaith, Adim is a master of death and decay, necromancy is the closest fit here. His personal views of death align with Kelemvor's core doctrine. However, in Arlencaith, mastery of death magic excludes one from healing (lifegiving) magic, so it is a very new set of skills Adim has now- the ability to heal and support others. He's very eagerly exploring his newfound role.
And because I can see the image quality is not great, here are some doodles of what he looks like in Arlencaith, and on the right, in Faerûn. In Arlencaith, he is a thin, wiry person, who uses a walking cane sometimes. He has scars in varying shades of angry red twisting and tearing up his neck, around the sides of his face, tearing out both his ears, and also around the top of his head. These he sustained in the near fatal attempt on his life. His hair has grown back grey, but thinner than before. Adim wears his hair sometimes in a low ponytail or in a skinny little braid. He dresses simply, in the grey robes of Arlencaithi monks indicating their oath to humility and service. His great love is for his family, and I drew him there cuddling his grandbaby (center bottom). In Faerûn he's suddenly developed wider shoulders and a more muscular bod! lol Wow look at these arms!
I'm so curious to see who he might be romancing, if at all. For now, I could foresee him with Halsin, if only because they're closer in age. I like to headcanon that Gale has big ol crush on Adim, just based off their interactions so far.
