You found out a new neighbour was moving into the neighbourhood. You had heard he was moving into the house right next to yours, and you were interested to see who it was.
One day, you found boxes in front of their yard. They had most boxes already there, but they seemed to be hauling more in. You couldn’t get a clear view of their face quite yet, so you stopped stalking them and turned to go make some dinner.
Today, you had made it your mission to walk around downtown and spend the birthday money your mother had shipped to your house.
You were dressed in a pastel crew neck and some ripped jeans, matched with your hair in a messy bun. You thought you looked cute, with some winged eyeliner and gold eyeshadow topping the whole lazy look off.
As you were heading back to your car with large bags in your hands, you took notice of a familiar face you had been seeing around lately. Was that... your neighbour?
Trying not to seem creepy, you pulled out your phone, using snapchat to zoom into his face. Yep, definitely your neighbour. You had seen him around a bit more often lately, and he seemed more than intimidating. You were too scared to talk to him most of the time. Of course, you were also scared of messing anything up because who wouldn’t talking to someone who looked like a greek god?
You decided this was the perfect time. Putting your phone down and into your pocket, you put the overly packed bags of clothing from multiple different stores into the backseat of your car and prepped yourself with a small peptalk.
‘Y/N, you can do this, he isn’t some type of monster that’ll eat you if you talk to him. He’s just a normal human moving into your town.’ You told yourself, inhaling and exhaling softly as you began to walk.
He was paying attention to his phone, eyebrows drawn together in confusion as he continued to look around where to go. Even with the GPS in his hand, he was frustrated on where to go. You happened to be walking towards him and he needed help.
He spoke first, cutting your first original sentence off.
“Hi, I... I think I need some help, my GPS is confusing me and I don’t really know my way around.” He explained, gesturing with his hands as he pointed behind him for some odd reason. He seemed flustered, but not as flustered as you were.
“O-Oh, yeah, sure, I’ll help. Where’d you wanna go?” You answered hastily, trying not to be awkward as your face flushed red. You moved to peek over his phone, and he nodded, pointing to where he wanted to go on his phone.
“There. The GPS says north but then it freezes and switches to southeast and just...” He said, exhaling sharply as he closed his eyes and ran a hand through his hair. You chuckled lightly at his struggles. You pointed the way he wanted to go, to a nearby cafe.
His face lit into a small smile as you explained, and he switched off his phone, slipping it into his back pocket as he looked fully at you. You realized he was ten times more handsome in front of you than through a phone and suddenly were slightly scared. You nervously smiled back, but knew he was less scary than he seemed this time.
“Thank you!” He said, waving before he ran off to go get to the cafe, leaving you alone and smiling quietly as you walked back to your car.
The next time you saw your neighbour was outside getting the mail, and you had coincidentally just gone out to grab yours as well. He seemed to see you though, because he waved from next door and caught your attention. After grabbing your own mail, you walked next door, smiling. Yet again, he started talking first.
“Aren’t you the girl that helped me find Starbucks the other day?” He said, a small smile on his face as he talked. You laughed.
“Yep, that’d be me. Who would’ve known we’re neighbours?” You acted clueless, even though you very well had known it was him the whole time. He playfully tapped his chin with one finger, looking like he was about to say something serious but surprising you instead.
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe the lady who has been secretly spying on me from her kitchen window for the past week?” He jokingly said, although it terrified you slightly because that was exactly what you had doing. He seemed to notice your flustered state, and didn’t help when he leaned into your ear.
“Don’t worry, I’ve been doing the same thing.” He whispered, voice low and slightly breathy. It made your heart race, and you wondered if he was doing it on purpose as you stood there, eyes wide. He moved away from your ear with the cheekiest smile on his face as he began laughing.
“Oh my god, calm down. The name’s Taeyong, and you are?” He asked, putting his hands in the pockets of his jacket.
“I’m Y/N, nice to meet you, Taeyong.” You replied, although it was slightly delayed because you still were startled by his previous actions.
Let’s just say that wasn’t the last time you saw Taeyong.
