The consensus is that the ship is strictly physical, especially after the mental and physical trauma that they had gone through that they need someone to just be there - not silently judging or trying to change them.

Their time together after missions used as a chance to ease whatever tension the mission had caused. Silently affirming that they’re both still there, still together even when the world around them has seemingly fallen apart.
