Uhhhh....

So.....

By the way this is Peter. The guy who started this whole thing a little bit over a year ago. The guy who got hit with a year of full-time school with a part-time job and a whole lot of personal writing projects that took my attention away from hamiltongenderbent for the entire school year. And, beyond that, I’m the one who gets the awkward job of saying that I’m not capable of bringing it to fruition.

I’m not going to list the reasons why, as much as I spent days trying to organise reasons in my head. I’m just going to apologise to the people who were invested in hamiltongenderbent, and thank the people who put a whole lot of themselves into it:

@calliepenguin, who was super lovely and set up the forum the crew was using. Of the entire crew, I’m sure that Lotte put the most effort into this

@marmaladespoon, who made hamiltongenderbent’s lovely icon, which was the face of the project. I still love it just as much as I did the first time I saw it

@mewchiili, who handled everyone’s submissions and got them organised on the forum

@calebwmmichaels, the sound editor for the demos that we made

@a-canker-in-a-hedge, who came up with the idea for hamiltongenderbent alongside me and is eternally a source of support for every art and/or writing thing I do

All the rest of the crew was also awesome! I admit that I’m not totally sure how to find all of you now, with so many changed usernames, but I definitely know those 5.

Again, I’m really sorry that this project won’t be continuing, and I’d like to send a super huge thank you to all the people who were still keeping track of this blog! The support of the nascent community that formed around this project was really helpful and awesome last summer, and I wish I had been able to keep the momentum going into the fall.

In the next few days, I’m going to do my best to delete everyone’s auditions from the forum, as well as from the email I created, so that no one can ever access it without the auditioner’s knowledge. If someone miraculously appears in that time with the strength and will to continue this project, and has the support of other folks to do it, I’ll gladly hand over the groundwork we laid here over to them.

As for myself, in the future I’m hoping to write more analysis on Hamilton, as well as a ton of fanfic and maybe practice my anatomy drawing with some animatics.

Tomorrow there’ll be more of us

Hello everyone! It’s been a while! I have been seeing all the asks people have been sending in, and I promise I am not abandoning this!!! I was just... buried in studying... and midterms... and writing... Life’s good, I swear!

So, the long absence has definitely shown me one thing: the bad consequence of a large crew is that no one feels obligated to do the work, and I am guilty of this, too. Also, we’re pretty much all students with busy schedules who can’t dedicate as much time to this as I was ambitious enough to expect from myself and others.

So, the og crew, awesome as they were, seems to have vanished??? A lot of them aren’t responding to messages? Do y’all still exist? And the remainder have no idea what’s going on.

So this is what we’re gonna do:

1. We have all of your auditions already! They are sitting on our forum, waiting for people to listen to them and judge who to ask for callbacks! The hard part is done!

2. I am capable of doing all of that. It will probably take until the end of term in April to start sending out callbacks, tho. I am also capable of doing all the management work going forward from there. But trust me, it would move at a CRAWL.

3. It would be great to get people who can put one or two hours a week towards helping with getting through the auditions! And then, later, once casting is over, could help to manage and put together the singing parts.

4. If you wanna help out (and can dedicate the time) send an ask to the blog off of anon, and tell me if you want me to private message you or add you on Skype. We can talk about what you wanna do and how you wanna do it. First people to apply get first pick of roles/songs they’re in charge of.

4a. If you’re already on crew and haven’t messaged me, feel free to message me if you’d like to continue helping out!

4b. Group contact will probably be through some sort of common social media now. The forum method is proven not to work. Skype? FaceBook? Google+? Does anyone actually use Google+?

5. I’m working on a new demo! Basically, I want to experiment with recording methods, so I’m going to record Take a Break at some point after my cold subsides (man, I love winter SO MUCH). Anyone want to do the Alexander part for me? I mean, I can, but as a cis man I am not the ideal person to sing as Alexander here.

6. Just found us recently? No problem! Work is probably not going to continue for a little bit, so there’s no particular reason to close auditions. Check the audition requirements and maybe ask the blog before sending an audition? So that I know to check the email and transfer it to the forum?

In order to make the audition process as smooth as possible, we would like to know what characters everyone will be auditioning for! This information will be used to determine what order characters will be auditioned in, so that a bunch of popular characters don’t open at once and stress people out. Nope! Thanks for asking, though!

Auditions will (probably) open on August 1, when hamiltontcast has (probably) finished their casting. We’re working hard behind the scenes to make sure that casting goes smoothly, and to get all of y’all hyped up for the start of auditions!

If you’re asking because of the post about Maria Reynolds, I thought that it would be okay to claim a character for myself, as the person who started this project. I’m open to holding auditions for Maria if enough people want to play the character. I’m really quite invested in it, though.

To the Crew

If you’re not on crew, please disregard (though we still need sound editors and arrangers if you’re interested!).

Some of you, I know, have not signed up for a forum account yet. We will be using the forum as our primary method of communication moving forward, including assigning duties to specific people, as well as our internal voting on the cast.

If you have visited the forum, you will know that there is a chat box at the top, which you enter your email and username into to use. This chat box is separate from the forum. To see the important posts on the forum, you must click the link at the top of the page that says “Register”. This will take you to a user agreement form. From there, you may register for the forum. You will also receive a validation email.

If you are a crew member who has not signed up on the forum, please do that shortly, as I plan to begin preparations for auditions very soon, and I need everyone present.

If you are a crew member who has signed up for the forum, it’s important to check regularly for updates.
