This shouldn’t be so complicated.
You’ve spent countless hours together before, you’ve stayed late together when it was his turn to close the gym and had help him practice sometimes, you even know what his favorite food is!
If only the excited beat of your heart could understand reasons. As you stare at yourself in the mirror a loud sigh exhales through your lips and once again you discard another piece of clothing, throwing it above the bed, atop the growing pile that you’ve already rejected. If only you didn’t feel such a fool, maybe everything would be easier. But you can’t calm yourself, and your insides are rumbling in expectation. then your mind wanders towards the last week when all of this begun.
You are still putting away the net when you hear hurried steps walking right outside the gym, it takes you aback cause by this time you’d expect for everyone to be gone already, even Kageyama and Hinata had said their goodbyes and God knows you had to kick them out as per usual. So who is it outside? You leave what you’re doing to see who’s outside when a feminine voice reaches to your ears.
“Tsukishima-kun!” You freeze in place, so it’s Tsukishima who’s outside, but why? He never spares a second unless is crucial, and always tells off Hinata whenever he tries to make him stay longer. So, perhaps he was waiting for the girl outside? Your heart clenches uncomfortably at the thought but it’s not like you’d be surprised, he has always been popular after all.
You chide yourself for making a whole movie in your head and decide to try to ignore whatever is happening outside even though every nerve in your body seems fully aware of Tsukishima’s answer.
“Oh, it’s you”.
You can only wonder who the hell is ‘you’.
“Is the volleyball club practicing late again?” asks the feminine voice, and you try to put a face on her voice in vain. You don’t seem to recognize her and it’s probably for the best, cause your already hyperactive imagination doesn’t need any more fuel.
“Not really, I just forgot my keys”.
You try to catch any sense of excitement or nervousness in Tsukishima’s voice, anything that tells you that this seemingly harmless conversation means anything else to him, and you feel so ashamed that you end up sighing. How pathetic.
“Oh, that’s great,” you hear her say, “Well, I guess it’s not great for you, but it’s good for me since I’ve been wanting to ask you something for a while”.
Oh no.
Great, just great, it’s not enough that you’ve been crushing on Tsukishima for over two years now, but now you gotta listen the progress of his romantic life. You can already see the next weeks unraveling in front of you; it’s not like this is the first time you’d heard that Tsukishima went on a date, mostly because Yamaguchi pities you too much to keep you in the dark knowing how you have strong feelings for his friend.
He’s always kind and always assures you that Tsukishima didn’t seem to like his date that much, but you can’t help but wonder if the next one will be the chosen one. Still, you have no one else to blame for your suffering but you, since you’re too coward to ask him out yourself. And now once again, you’ll dedicate yourself to hope things don’t move further with the mysterious girl and Tsukishima.
“What is it?” His voice brings you back from your cavilations and you can’t help but get a little closer to the semi open window.
“Well, since we seem to bump into each other often when we leave our clubs so, I was wondering if maybe… you’d like to go out with me sometime?”
“Ah.”
“Sorry if I am being too blunt! I just, I like you a lot, Tsukishima-kun!”
You’re clenching your fists so hard in expectation that you don’t even realize that you’re hurting yourself. You don’t even know how you got so close to the window, but when you realize you’ve crashed against the bucket filled with water to mop the floor and causing for its contents to spill all over your feet.
“Goddamnit!” You let out, the events outside momentarily forgotten.
“What was that?” Asks the girl outside as you curse, the feeling of your wet socks making you tremble.
You hear Tsukishima mockingly emit a short laugh, “That sounded like my clumsy manager, in fact I gotta make sure she didn’t do any property damage”.
You’re too busy taking off your shoes when you hear him add.
“Sorry, I’m not really interested in dating right now”.
You merely have a second to exhale in relief when Tsukishima’s opening the gate to properly laugh at you at you, and when he closes after himself the sound of steps walking away indicate that the other girl is leaving.
“Great job, manager-san.” His lips are twitching upwards, not interested in conceiving his mocking smile.
You’re embarrassment is too much and you can feel your face burn in a probably very visible blush.
“Ha ha”. Is all you can manage to answer as you walk towards the mop with as much dignity as you can with your soaked feet.
“I tripped okay”. You add, as his gaze stares intently into you.
“Really? I thought you were too hot and wanted to freshen up”.
“Ahh” you sigh, “ You got me there, saw right through me”.
He chuckles, and you have to look away so that he doesn’t notice that he’s the main reason from your embarrassment and not the recent incident.
“Don’t be embarrassed manager-san, everybody makes mistakes”.
“I’m not embarrassed!” You blatantly lie trying to look defiant.
“Then why are you getting red?” He walks closer towards you and your heartbeat jumps excitedly in your chest. This is perfect, just the perfect humiliation in front of your crush, like Tsukishima didn’t manage to perfectly tease you without any aid.
“Stop it! Don’t you have another girl to reject or something?”
This time it’s Tsukishima’s turn to turn red, even if in the slightless, but it’s enough to burn the tip of his ears, he takes his hand to rub the back of his neck and averts his gaze from yours.
“Now who’s blushing”. You taunt him back as you begin to mop the puddle on the floor.
“Don’t you know you shouldn't spy on other people conversations?”
“I wasn’t spying! I was just doing my job!”
Tsukishima’s sly grin returns to his lips as he sees your nervousness. “Really? It seems to me that you were spying on me”.
“You wish.”
“Mmm, I didn’t know you were so interested in whom I date”.
You can feel yourself choke on your words, your mouth gaping trying to come with anything that doesn’t make you seem hopelessly in love with the boy in front of you.
“I couldn’t care less about who you decide to date! Go back to that girl for all I care!”
“Oh, so you were listening”. There’s too much joy in his voice for your liking, like he actually enjoys seeing you all flustered.
“I didn’t meant to, it’s not my fault she decided to confess right outside the gym!”
“True, next time I’ll tell her to talk to me when you’re not around”.
Your expression goes awry for a second, but you turn around to cover yourself. How dumb, you really just wanna leave and stop thinking about him and about how much you like him and how much you hate yourself for not being able to tell him the truth.
“Don’t look so jealous (Y/N)-san”. He coos as he places his large hand atop your shoulder. “I can ask you out if you really can’t handle it”.
You freeze for a second, even as as joke it’s enough to make your heart jump inside your chest, and if you weren’t so busy trying to calm yourself down maybe you’d catch on the rising blush on Tsukishima’s neck.
“Really, I can’t wait then”. You answer, excitement hiding behind the sarcasm.
“Then let’s have that date soon, so you don’t get any more jealous”.
“Yes please, my heart can barely handle it.” You heart in deed can barely handle it, like, why are you making things so complicated. Why couldn’t you just be brave like that girl from before.
Tsukishima takes the mop from your hands while averting his gaze to the side, “Let’s do it this Saturday”.
You still haven’t decide what to wear when you reread the text Tsukishima sent you last night, just before midnight.
“This is a real date, just so you know”
Tsukishima checks the watch for the twelfth time in a minute, and he feels himself grow embarrassed as he remembers that the only reason he decided to wear a watch was because that time in new year when you complimented Akiteru’s gift, saying that the watched looked good on him.
He spots you among the crowd getting out of the train, as you look around trying to find him he can feel his cheeks burn as your image settes in his mind, of course he thinks you’re pretty, but you look just too much for him to correctly process, so he tries to calm himself before finally walking towards you.
“Boo”. He whispers behind you, chuckling at your scared reaction.
“Tsukishima! I thought you were a perv! I was about to punch you in the stomach.”
“So now I’m a pervert, huh?”
You stick your tongue at him, and he smiles, ever so slightly, but still visible enough for you to smile back at him, and he feels his heart drop at the sight.
He clears his throat, trying to avoid feeling so abashed, his eyes travel downwards landing on your feet, a new grin appearing on his face.
“So, did you choose to wear sandals in case that you trip yourself over another bucket filled to the brim?” He teasingly asks as you walk towards the movies.
“Nevermind, date is over, I can’t deal with you, I lost my interest” You say as you start moving towards the movies.
His hand reaches the top of your head and you can hear the tease in his voice. “Too late, you already said yes and I’m still interested, so let’s go”.
You smile softly, his touch making your insides ignite, still, you’re not about to let him get away so easily.
“Oh, well, I guess I’ll honor you with my presence since I’ve really been waiting to see this movie.”
“How frivolous, so you’re only using me for my tickets.”
“Of course I am, didn’t you know already? I only date multimillionaires and philanthropists.”
He snickers, a different snicker form his usual one, one that is softer and that makes you feel warm.
“Poor me, I’m only a millionaire, not a multimillionaire, so I guess we’re not meant for eachother.”
Jinwoo sat on your toilet lid as you stood between his legs. You grabbed another makeup wipe, throwing out the dirty one. You gently wiped his face for the last time, riding him of the last traces of his days work. As you finished he wrapped his arms around your waist and shoved his face into your stomach. You ran your fingers through his hair as he hummed in appreciation. 'Thank you.' He whispers to you and you place a soft kiss to the top of his head.
Hanahaki Disease: a fictional disease where the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love.It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim’s romantic feelings for their love also disappear.
I decided to try something new and write this scenario in bullet form! Enjoy!

You always loved flowers, but never knew that you would suffer from them
You have always been in love with Jeon Jungkook, your childhood best friend
You both were at the age of five when you both met. It all happened when you complimented his favorite red sneakers he wore on the first day of school, which ultimately won over his heart.
He then enthusiastically asked you to be his friend and you were like “okay” because why would you say no to someone like Jungkook?
Ever since that day, you both became very close and did everything together
On weekends, you both went to the nearby pond in your neighborhood to catch tadpoles
On other days you both would spend it indoors watching movies or playing video games
There was never a day that went by where you both weren’t together
As you got older, you began to notice certain traits and quirks that made Jungkook the person you fell in love with
He was always kind, sweet, sincere, and also the biggest, weirdest dork you’ll ever meet. He never fails to make you laugh and you always have a smile on your face whenever he’s around
He was basically a perfect human in your eyes - a gift from above
As your love grew for Jungkook, so did the distance between you both
Jungkook came running to you one day after class ended, telling you about this girl he has been talking to for quite some time and was wondering if you could help set the two up
The way he asked you, hands clasped together, eyes full of hope, made you feel uneasy
He liked someone else...someone that wasn’t you
And you hated the fact that you knew - that you weren’t the one that made him feel this amount of happiness that this mysterious girl did
You felt your throat itch and burn. Your stomach was rupturing in pain and your heart was swelling up. Then you felt your lungs being constricted within your body.
Before you could say anything to Jungkook, you ran to the bathroom, barged into an empty stall, and bent over the toilet, seeing crimson red roses fall into the waters, along with a few droplets of blood
With the sight of flowers and blood before you, you sat down and knew what you were suffering from.
It was hanahaki - a disease that results from a one-sided love
It was ironic, though, to see red roses before you when they’re represented as the symbol of love
You slowly pushed yourself up off of the floor and left the bathroom to find a worried Jungkook standing outside of the bathroom
“What happened?! Are you okay?! Do you need to go to the nurse’s office?”
“I’m fine. I just..didn’t feel too good. But I’m better.”
He then asked you once again if you wanted to see the nurse incase it happens again, but you shook your head and ignored his words
“What were you saying earlier again?”
Jungkook looked at you, seeing that you made up your mind, and didn’t question it. He knew how stubborn you were when you make a decision and stuck with it
So he proceeds to ask you what he did earlier and even though you wanted to deny helping him, something in you made you agree to help him
“I’ll do it,” you said, feeling the flowers climb up your throat
Jungkook then smiled widely, thanked you, and then told you he had to run
As he left, you slowly fell onto the floor, coughing up more rose petals as you heard your breathing become muffled. Every breath you took was just the feeling of flowers growing within your lungs, making breathing difficult and even painful
You then pushed yourself off the floor and left school, seeing the sky in a gray, bleak color, just adding to your bitter mood
It then became darker and you felt raindrops fall on you one by one before it became more rapid. As people around you bustled to the nearest place before getting soaked, you continued to walk in the rain
You were too numb to do anything. All you could think about was Jungkook and how his heart belonged to someone else. Was it pathetic for you to think that maybe there was an opportunity for you to be with him?
A bitter laugh escaped your lips. Why are you thinking such thoughts when Jungkook has never seen you as nothing more than just a friend
Soon enough, the rain stopped soaking your clothes and hair. You looked up to find an umbrella over you and then Jungkook by your side
“I had a feeling you’d be walking home in the rain. That’s why I headed to the convenience store to buy an umbrella. And it was pure luck that you didn’t walk too far.” A warm smile was followed after his sentence
These little actions where Jungkook does small, little things like this just added to the pain aching in your heart and the irritating feeling in your lungs
You tried your best not to cough. “T-Thanks...it’s like you always...come and save me at the right moments.”
Just talking to him made your throat itch and burn.
“Always. Anything for you.”
You both continued to walk in silence, only hearing the soft patters of rain around the two of you
Despite feeling like your whole body is going to fall apart, you never wanted this moment to end. You love being with Jungkook. It’s like the whole world is in balance whenever you’re with him. It’s a warm and fuzzy feeling - like being wrapped in a blanket on a cold winter’s day
You then arrived at your house and Jungkook handed you the umbrella, dashing into his own house which was right next to yours. You laughed as you watched him hurry into his home, but then began to cough. Even the feeling of happiness erupts another explosion of flowers from your lungs
You ran into your house, kneeling on the floor as you coughed up more petals and blood. The pain was unbearable and you felt tears fall out of the corner of your eyes. You took a deep breath and sighed, standing up slowly as you cleaned the mess of flowers and blood
Days turned to weeks and weeks turned into months. Eventually, you both were in your next year of university
This time, instead of spending time with Jungkook, you spent your time alone as he was with his girlfriend often. You never really go to see Jungkook as much as you did before. The only time you did was during the summer before the fall semester
You would be sitting on your back deck, reading a book. Jungkook then appeared and hopped over your gate, walking up to you with his warm, friendly grin. He then took a seat beside you and proceeded to ask how was your summer so far, what were you reading, and also added in an apology for abandoning the most important person in his life
The phrase felt like a stab to the back and you felt your lungs nearly collapse. You suppressed your cough and listened to Jungkook talk about his relationship with his girlfriend, seeing this new side of happiness to him.
There was something about the way his eyes twinkled and his lips curved into an effortless smile that differed from the way you would affect his upbeat mood
He was in love - in love with someone that wasn’t you. He felt different types of feelings with his girl than you. He felt something you could not manage to do the many years of being friends with him.
And it hurt - it hurts so damn much
But being upset and unsupportive is the last thing Jungkook would want. So you tortured yourself and told him how happy you were, and perhaps one day you would like to meet the girl that made Jungkook feel this way
Though that was the last memory you had with Jungkook, you still couldn’t help but miss him and also admit you’re still in love with him
Flowers continued to grow and wrap your lungs. It’s been a while since you had hanahaki and wondered how long you could keep it up before it ultimately takes your life
Your neck often had scratches from the constant rose petals you keep coughing up and it got to the point where you needed to go to the emergency room
The doctor came up to you after doing a few tests and said that given a few more weeks, you could be dead. The roses and its vines have begun to wrap almost every part of your lungs, making it almost impossible to breathe
The only way to prevent this is to get surgery.
You knew that was the only way considering there wasn't a chance or opportunity that perhaps Jungkook could ever return your love. You kept this disease hidden and suffocated it until it continued to hurt you even more because you were desperate
Somewhere in your heart, you felt like that maybe...maybe the world will be in your favor - that maybe there is a small chance to be with Jungkook
But you knew it would not happen. You were dying all because you avoided going to the hospital to seek help. And the last thing you wanted to be told was to get surgery and forget the feeling of loving Jungkook
With the way things were now, you decided to go for it and scheduled it for the week after.
Maybe this was it. Maybe this was meant to be. Maybe the world didn’t want you to be with Jungkook at all. Maybe he was never yours to begin with.
A week passed and it was the day before your surgery. You invited Jungkook to the old park you both practically went to every single day when you both were younger.
The pond was still there, tadpoles hiding under the vibrant green lily pads as a few lotus blossoms began to bloom under the moon’s light
You then walked from the waters and sat on the swing set, swaying back and forth until you heard rapid footsteps come towards you
“Hey! Am I late?” he asked, almost out of breath
You shook your head. “Not at all.”
Jungkook sat beside you, swaying back and forth as well as he chuckled to himself, saying how it has been so long since he last stepped foot here. Memories of the two of you running around this park and spending much of it in the pond replayed in your head.
What did you feel? Freedom...happiness...bliss...joy...
You’ll always feel these...but not anymore with Jungkook
“The moon is so bright tonight! It’s almost a light, pale blue color,” he said, head tilting towards the sky. You didn’t look at it, though. Your mind was elsewhere.
“You look spaced out. Something’s on your mind?”
Were you ready to tell him?
“I need you to listen and not talk until I’m done,” you finally spoke.
Jungkook’s joyful facade faded away. His eyes looked at you worriedly
“I...am getting surgery tomorrow...and wanted to spend the last day with you where I remember the feelings of...loving the boy I grew up with.”
Your eyes were welling up in tears as you coughed into the palm of your hand, petals and blood falling together
“I have...hanahaki and whenever I cough, rose petals appear.”
You showed him the palm of your hand that was warm with roses that were completely soaked in blood. Your symptoms have worsened and all that you could cough up was majority of blood rather then rose petals
“You get this disease...as a result from a one-sided love. I...I found out the day..you wanted me to help you w-win the girl of your...dreams.”
Your speech was drawn out slowly due to your shortness of breath and your eyes practically letting a waterfall stream down your face
“The moment I left to the bathroom..the day you asked me to h-help you...I violently coughed up these petals and knew that there was no way...you’ll ever love me.”
You grabbed a tissue from the pocket of your coat and cleaned your hands, the white paper soaked in red. You then wiped your tears away and took a deep breath
“This whole time...I tortured myself in hopes that one day you’ll love me. But...it was a mistake. I barely saw you and you’re always talking about her. So that’s why I’m getting surgery tomorrow...and I’ll never be able to love you again.”
You coughed up some more rose petals along with a few splatters of blood here and there. You looked up to see Jungkook staring directly at you, eyes dark, but you could read what he felt at that exact moment: hurt, anger, disappointment, and sadness
“y/n,” he said, his hand slowly going to your face as his finger wiped away a droplet of tear that came rolling down the side of your face, “please stop crying.” His voice was barely audible to your ears
“It hurts me to see this way. It hurts because I was the cause of your pain and suffering.”
He then took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. “I’m sorry...I never loved you the way you loved me. I’m sorry you had to go through so much pain, seeing me happy when your happiness matters more. B-But...wouldn’’t be best to get the surgery? What’s the point of loving me? I hurt you for almost an entire year, y/n. I nearly killed you.”
You didn’t know what to say. So you stood up, hands shoved into the pockets of your hoodie
“It’s okay, Jungkook. I’m just sad that whenever I’m around you, I can’t feel happiness or sadness or anger or even love. I won’t feel anything. I’l feel all sorts of things around others...but when I’m with you...the person I care the most about in this world...it won’t be the same. The memories we made - I’ll remember them. But I’ll forget what it feels like. That’s why I’m so sad.”
Jungkook now looked like he was about to cry and shook his head. He didn’t realize that going with the surgery would mean losing all feeling for the one who didn’t return the love back. He didn’t want this at all
“No. I can’t let you do that, y/n. I don’t want to be the only one in our relationship that remembers how it feels to be around each other. It’s like in return of your relief from suffering, I carry the burden of what’s left...I don’t want to see you looking at me with a blank expression. I don’t want to see you looking at me who easily bought a smile to your face, with nothing but an empty look. Please...”
You then walked up to Jungkook and wrapped your arms around his frame. “It’s going to be fine, Jungkook. I’ll still be your best friend.”
“But my best friend would never forget how to feel around me...my best friend would never forget what to do to make me happy when I’m sad, or calm when I’m angry.”
You then pulled apart and saw him wipe his reads away. It broke your heart even more and you fell to the ground, clutching your shirt near your chest as you coughed more and more, petals and blood gushing out all at once.
Then, everything went black
Hours later, you woke up in a hospital room, seeing Jungkook sitting right beside your bed, fast asleep. You let your hand run through his hair gently and he stirred in his sleep. He then woke up and looked at you, rubbing his eyes.
“How are you feeling? Do you need the nurse?” he asked, his voice deep and raspy from the slumber he had just awoken from.
“I’m...fine,” you said quietly.
“You really scared me back there. All I saw was a pool of red in front of you and I was nearly screaming on the phone for help,” he said with a breath of laughter, “but you’re fine...everything’s fine...”
You felt a minor headache interrupt your thoughts as you rubbed your forehead. “What happened?” you asked.
“I love you. That’s what happened.”
Your eyes widened and Jungkook laughed at your surprised expression.
“I love you, y/n. When you fell onto the floor and had me so scared, you were coughing up remnants of rose petals in your system. Me worrying...about never being with my best friend made who makes me feel like the luckiest guy ever, made me realized that I loved you more...than that.”
So Jungkook saved you. He then handed you a jar of petals that were in an ombre color from dark red to pink. They were actually beautiful.
“The doctor said the change in color shows that the one you love has learned to love you back.”
You sank back into your bed, holding onto the jar and staring at Jungkook who had a new expression on his face. This time, he looked at you as if you held the entire world in your eyes.
He then bent down to kiss your forehead, your cheeks, and then you lips, making you giggle at his affection.
“I love you too,” you said.
“Ah, I already know that. Now it’s my turn to tell you that,” he said. You then moved over a bit to make room for Jungkook. He got beneath the thin covers of the hospital blanket as he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you in close.
The jar of petals, a majority of them in their changing color sequence from red to pink, sat on the desk besides the bed, a reminder that Jungkook loves you as much as you love him
Hello everyone, I am truly sorry but for now we can’t keep Min opened. It’s been just one admin taking care of everything and I was going to close before, but members were so sweet and nice that I’ve decided to keep trying to have minimalist working. But enough is enough, I’m afraid. I can’t take care of a directory alone. Accepting members is easy but when this first began my goals were for every member to feel at home and to write a lot. To feel like the directory was helping and also I loved to send messages to every member individually, on it’s own and it has been impossible. And I’m afraid I failed you guys because I didn’t keep that goal going, for that I’m truly sorry.
I’m really sad because it has been the best place I’ve ever created and man, you have been the best members in the whole world. But, asides from a roleplayer, I’m a person with a busy schedule ooc and alone I can’t do it. MINIMALIST will re-open in summer, hopefully. But for now, we will have to close our doors. Feel free to unfollow the directory.
And I really apologize from the bottom of my heart that we didn’t make it. TO every member,
I’m sorry.
Deeply.
And thank you so, so, so much for joining in the first place. This has been one of the best experiences in my rp history.
Korean Grammar - Noun Derivational Ending(명사형 전성 어미)
Hello Everyone! This is Admin Sun here to continue on our grammar lesson of this month! Today we’re going to talk about the noun-making endings –(으)ㅁ and -기 that will be extremely useful in your journey to mastering Korean! First of all, you’ve learned the basics of endings changing verbs with our earlier grammar posts so let’s hop right into these endings!
1. -(으)ㅁ
This ending is extremely versatile and you’ll find it used a LOT in daily life. You basically add 음 or ㅁ to the stem of the verb (or Adjective) to make it into a noun. If the verb stem ends in a vowel like 바라다 (to wish) you add ㅁ, so the noun form of 바라다 is 바람(wish). But if the verb stem ends in a consonant like 있다 (be, have) then you add 음, so the noun form of 있다 is 있음.
