I'm just puzzled why they had Ienzo be a little kid in BBS. Unless he and Kairi are gonna interact in kh3 (which YES! Kairi backstory!) Otherwise I can't really think of a reason why they had to let Ansem's youngest apprentice who basically was a major factor in effing the universe up in their experiments be a little boy. What do you think?
Part of it I think has to do with the story not being totally finalized, especially not the…convoluted mess we have today, at the time of Kingdom Hearts release. A young Ienzo could’ve been the plan from the start, or Nobodies could’ve been a sudden addition to add more antagonists, I’d have to look up which is more true though. If anyone has access to concept art or the like, we’d love to see it!
I think it could be a dramatic element or maybe say something about the effect of scientific curiosity on impressionable children when you take the personal connection out of the equation (it’s easy to forget that Heartless and Nobodies were people), or maybe Ienzo was manipulated into urging the experiments forward by Xehanort!
I personally hope this is something they address but if not, I’ll keep it on the list I’m going to make in December of “Things that probably weren’t thought out well in Kingdom Hearts” (title not finalized).
It’s going to be a fun December.
