Ooh! New blog to read! Yay (≧∇≦) Can I request for s/o waiting for Tsuna at their meeting place because they've agreed to go out on a date (please make it an angst) I wish you the best for this blog! (*´∇`*) HWAITING!
You looked up from your phone and smiled at the brunet that stood in front of you, smile a mirror of yours.
“I tried my best.” You replied.
For the first time in ages Tsuna had been finally free from his mafia obligations at the same time you were freed from yours, and you two could finally go on a date. You couldn’t afford to be less than radiant to the man you loved.
He offered his arm, and you held it, unable to stop smiling for whatever reason possible. You couldn’t explain with words how joyful it was to be finally there, at that restaurant. With him.
Tsuna spoke a few words with the receptionist and led you to your table on the balcony. It was one of those fancy restaurants with balconies that you were certain you couldn’t afford if you were alone.
You two engaged on small talk on the way to your table, and when you reached there you thought to yourself that you never smiled and laughed so much in your life. The night had just started and you were already happy beyond the normal.
He appreciated every laugh and smile he could get from you, as he could see that you were genuinely enjoying yourself. One of the reasons he fell for you was because of how genuine you always were in whatever you did. It was so easy to read your emotions.
The night couldn’t be better for both of you, and he secretly wished that that moment never ended.
You didn’t know that it would end sooner than expected.
The waiter had just given you the menu, and you had chosen what you wanted. When the man disappeared with your order, Tsuna felt uncomfortable.
He knew it was his intuition telling him something, but didn’t know what. It was vague and annoying. His eyes scanned the people below, trying to identify something out of place and you noticed that he was distant.
His eyes snapped back at you, stared at your worried expression. He gave you an apologetic smile, and when he was about to reassure you that it was nothing his intuition screamed at him.
With wide eyes he shoved you to the ground, and you didn’t have any time to react at all before you heard the gunshots.
Tsuna flipped the table in order to give you two some kind of cover from the gunshots that came from below, pulling you closer and reassuring you that you two would be safe. You were trembling slightly, and he took that as fear. As far as he knew, you hadn’t been in a combat zone before. He kept reassuring you that you two would be okay. That everything would be okay.
The shooting stopped for a bit, a brief window of time that he planned to use to move. He knew reinforcements would come, but you two couldn’t just stay there and wait. The table was resistant but he wouldn’t rely just on it.
Keeping his head low and telling you to do the same, Tsuna dashed quickly to the door leading to the stairs. He was aiming for the emergency exit near it.
You two couldn’t reach too far, though, before the door to the stairs was kicked open and more men with guns appeared.
He flipped another table and held you close, waiting for an opportunity to run again.
He felt you trembling more than before, and noticed that you were being too silent since the start. He would’ve expected you to panic and scream under that situation, but instead you were curled on yourself and silently trembling.
At this point he didn’t know much what to do, other than keep reassuring you that you two would be okay, promising that you would be okay. Saying that he wouldn’t make such a promise if he wasn’t sure he would be able to fulfill it.
You didn’t give any answer, but he knew that you had understood him.
The next pause came, and he grabbed your arm and dashed to the next row of tables. The men were almost done reloading their guns, but he couldn’t let that happen since you two were so close to them now.
Tsuna flipped another table, left you behind it and dashed straight to the attackers. He used his flames to strengthen every attack he unleashed on them. He kicked and punched, and they tried to counterattack but it was hard to fire an assault rifle that close.
In the end, he managed to defeat the men who were there, but he could hear the others down the stairs. He ran back to you, finding you slumped against the table and still trembling. It hurt his heart beyond description to see you like that. To think that he had left you in such a situation.
Once you two were out of there he would ask how enemies managed to get inside a restaurant that belonged to his family, but right now, he had to think about escaping.
He asked you if you could walk and you nodded. He explained that you two would escape using the emergency exit, told you to head there while he grabbed a chair and used it to block the door to the stairs.
Hopefully they wouldn’t find resistance on the emergency exit, and the Vongola reinforcements wouldn’t take long to arrive.
Once that was done, he turned back to the exit door and saw you leaning your shoulder on it, head bowed and hands crossed over your stomach.
Something was not right. Something was completely not right, and it took him too long to figure out.
He saw the blood seeping through your fingers, the blood that you were doing your best to contain, and started asking himself when did you get shot.
“I wasn’t… Hit…” You explained, your voice wavering from both pain and the exhaustion that came with the blood loss. “When I fell on the ground… The wine glass came too…”
You removed one of your hands and he saw the faint glint of the glass between the dark crimson blood.
“It’s okay,” You said with a faint smile. “We will be okay.”
He felt as if a cold hand had just crushed his heart, but swallowed the lump on his throat and nodded at you. He pulled you aside carefully so he could open the door.
He prayed the reinforcements could arrive soon. He just needed a bit of time. Just a bit of time, enough to undo what he had done.
