I know I'm kind of dragging up the past a bit but the whole indian accent thing did frustrate me I'm indian myself and I often get made fun of (even tho I literally have lived in the uk all my life and actually don't have an Indian accent?) it got to the point where I hated hearing my original country's accent so it was offensive for the reason that Indian accents are often used for a comedic effect which apparently is funny

Sometimes I feel a bit crappy bc Im in a group chat with other members of the phandom and we're all lgbtq+ and we discuss lots of stuff but like I'm the only poc in the chat and sometimes I feel a bit isolated and different I mean we all live in the same country but like a while ago we were talking about Donald trump and I kind of just got ignored when I put my view across bc considering I'm more likely to be affected by it? Idk even know if I make sense

i’ve been there!!!! honestly like everytime we talk about donald trump anywhere i’m always like :):))) if he wins i’m going to be labelled with badges (i’m muslim) and stuff and then all my white friends are just like “no one cares that you’re muslim stfu” and it’s just :))) but yeah being a poc in the lgbtq+ community is rough because everyone is here for white lgbtqa+ people, but once there are poc lgbt+ people come in everyone’s like right i didn’t know people of color  could be gay/bi/pan/trans/gender queer/etc??22????@2/?@? and it’s so fucking annoying

i’ll try to find more resources for people of color  lgbtqa+ youth for you !!! i reblogged some for lgbtqa+ muslims(i think i tagged them as /poc or just search my admin tag to find it !!!) but i’ll try finding resources for other religions as well, just remember you’re not alone friend! if it helps, just go in front of the mirror and just tell yourself you’re valib of your sexuality and gender (i do that sometimes lmao :) you’re valid and dw donald trump can’t possibly get elected like people aren’t that stupid....right?

I don't feel like dan's Indian accent was racist, and I'm poc, and I just think that India is a country where they speak English a lot,and unlike USA or Australia, they have a really pronounced accent. (1/2)

Like if he had done an American accent people might have guessed it's him, and I'm not defending him because I like him. Anyway, that's my opinion, I totally understand if you have a different one, but I hope it made you see things from my POV. (2/2)

well you see, i thought this way too.  but then thephandomtea brought up a very good points here and here and i think it’s worth to read tbh. i really don’t like talking about this personally as dan already apologized, and he’s done with the situation and i think it’s a situation of the past as he probably doesn’t answer the phone like that anymore but yeah i do see where you’re coming from

I organized a POC phandom meet up a few months back and like, I never really received any hate messages before, but I had TONS of asks calling me a racist and how not including white ppl was a form of bullying like?? Tf? I realize the ohandom gets silent as fuck whenever racism is an issue (eg Dans Indian accent) and it pisses me off sometimes

yikes wow yeah dan’s indian accent thing was racist, but he apologized so i don’t wanna bring up the past as he’s obviously sorry and apologized, but wow that’s why i was so scared of making this network in the first place white people can be scary as fuck wow like i think this blog got a few asks saying “this is racist to white people” and things like “wow i feel like i’m  not special becase i’m white” (i usually delete those anons because wow um no i don’t want to deal with this) but wow i’m sorry you had to go through that !!

ignorant people are everywhere and there are two ways to deal with it: A) figh them and start arguments or B) delete the ask and just wait for the anon to go away.  like most of the time these racist ass people are probably waiting for their ask to be answered lol

Hey babes! First off, it's awesome that you guys made this blog, just discovered it ;) secondly, there are barely any Youtubers of color and that scares me off of starting my own channel tbh

Hello! Firstly, thanks!  I’ve felt this way before too, as a lot of youtubers who are people of colour are often looked over or are not as popular as white youtubers, but I think that you should totally start a channel.  If more people of colour start youtube channels, we can inspire other people of colour to make channels and it could inspire millions. Here are some resources and stuff 

1) the blog @youtubersofcolor  -  a blog dedicated to promoting youtubers of colour A+ bog 1000% recommend!!

2) Youtuber WoC - a masterlist ( i couldn’t find one of MoC though sorry)

Since when is patrick stump half black?

Hello I’m back from vacation so sorry this ask is being answered very late !!! Patrick Stump is NOT black! Pete Wentz however is half black (his more is half black Jamaican and half Hawaiian) and I confused both of them, which was entirely my fault. I’m so so so sorry and I deleted the gif set! It was queued and I forgot I queued it and yeah, so I understand if you can’t forgive me because this was a very big mistake of mine, but I hope that you do!
