We just wanted to give a shout out to our new followers as well as send some love to our older followers! Thank you so much for deciding to hang out with us and we hope that you are just as excited as we are! Our opening day that we’re still shooting for is Saturday, July 18th so it’s coming up super soon!  Keep an eye out for further updates as we’ll likely be opening up Face Claim Reserves this weekend/the start of next week. THE FINAL COUNTDOWN🌺

Get ready, Sprouts!! Reserves are going live tomorrow, July 25th, at 12 PM EST. We hope you are as excited as we are!! Here’s a few things to note: 1.) We will accept all Tumblr reserves from tomorrow until Saturday, August 1st. So you have plenty of time! 2.) Each potential member who reserves in that week will be allowed TWO FACE CLAIM RESERVES! That is something that we will ONLY allow for you early birds! 3.) We are accepting CANON RESERVES as well! But, as there are only 16 canons at this time, these will remain one per person. Is there a set age for Izaak and his sister? I'm just trying to narrow down some faces for him!

The only age requirement is that characters have to be at least 18. After that, it’s all up to you!

I'm intrigued by this RP! I love all the inspirations! Curious: will there be a word count expectation? Activity checks? I only ask because life gets hectic!

Yay!! That makes us so happy to hear!! We don’t have a word count as we believe in quality over quantity. We just ask that you ensure you give your writing partners enough to work with for their reply back to you. 

As of right now, we are currently holding Activity Checks once a month where only 1 post is required for each character in order to save them. However, we do understand that life gets crazy - especially with everything going on in the world these days. So if you have any concerns about things time wise or just need to take a little absence (such as for mental health reasons), let Staff know and we can see about giving you an exception. We want RP to be fun and a way to de-stress so we’ll do what we can to help!

never did a jcink rp, but i'm intrigued? how is this different than tumblr and how does the application process work? are canons open bios?

Hi there! I'm super excited that we managed to intrigue you! I haven't had a lot of tumblr rp experience myself but I can try my best to differentiate the two. Outside of where things are hosted (tumblr vs a forum) at their core they are very much the same. You still write a post and then your writing partner(s) will reply. I'd say the biggest difference is timing. Tumblr RP is very much instantaneous while Forum rp is a bit more gracious with response time. You don't have to reply right away and sometimes it can take people a week or more to give a response and that is okay! Granted, Forum RP does have a rapidfire option where people just focus on instantly replying back and forth but that typically isn't the norm. I think maybe posts are a bit longer on forums as well? I've seen people write anywhere from 100 words to somewhere up in the thousands as far as word count goes. On Oleander specifically, we don't require a word count. So you can write as much or as little as you like. Oh boy this is getting Long....I’ll stick the rest under a Read More tag so please continue there.  

As far as the application process goes, that will vary from site to site. But for Oleander, we have a two part process. The first is filling out a profile with information such as a Character's name, where they live, and what their occupation is. There's also a section there where you'll do an overview of their personality and family history. It doesn't have to be anything long just enough that someone reading it will have a good sense of your character. The second part of the process is filling out a Shipper, sometimes called a Plotter. That's where you can go a bit more in-depth. You'll give a break down of what your character looks for in Friends/how they are as  Friend, what sort of people or things would make someone their Enemy, and then what they look for in a Romantic partner. It basically gives people a run down of how your character acts to let them try to figure out how well their own characters would mesh with yours. After those two parts are done, Staff looks over your application and then will sort you into the correct member group ~~ We have a registration guide that can walk you through it if you get lost or a Staff member is always happy to help! (I was full of questions when I first joined a form RP myself. I know that there is a lot to take in sometimes so we do our best to try and make it not so overwhelming....) Now for Canons ~  Outside of what little descriptions we've given (and the Guilds for the Guild Masters as we had to build them) everything is entirely up to you! You can choose your face claim, species, age, family, history, personality, etc. If you pick up a canon, you'll help us shape them - Just as every member will help us shape the world we're all creating together.

The last one (about this matter) I do hope! What would be mages' hierarchy if they have one? How magic and mages are considered in your world and its societies and cultures?

Among arcane casters, there is a definite level of respect between mentors and students. After that, a person rises in the hierarchy depending on such things as magical contributions, discoveries, magical prowess, or accomplishing deeds that can be seen as impressive or admirable. The more valuable an asset you seem, the more respect you earn, and thus the higher in the unspoken hierarchy you sit.  Outside of arcane circles, the view of magic and mages will vary from place to place as well as person to person. But as a whole the general consensus is something along the lines of: Wizards are respected for the amount of time and dedication they give to their craft, Sorcerers are impressive but need a level of caution when dealing with due to them housing such raw power, and Warlocks....be wary of warlocks because who knows WHAT they traded to in order to obtain magical powers.

Sorryyy, but I have too much questions for only one topic. Can everyone and all races be a mage? Only people born with magical gifts, no matter the race or not? If it's only born-mages, what would be the percentage among the population, will it be close to 2% like the nobility in France before the Revolution or more close to 10% like in Fairy-Tail (just examples)? Is magic hereditary? If yes, always, or can it "jump" over one, two, three, four or fivd generations?

No worries! Please ask all the questions you need! Hopefully, our responses are able to clear up our magic setup! When it comes magic, we are pulling from the Dungeons and Dragons classes. So, there are classes like druids or clerics whose magic comes from an entirely different place of origin - nature and the divine respectively. But those classes wouldn’t benefit from the likes of The College as the studies there are purely arcane in nature and would accept Wizards, Warlocks, and Sorcerers.  The majority of people across the continent of Wylderun are not able to do magic but every race is capable of producing someone that is able to harness the arcane. It can be an ancient line of wizards or a sorcerer that is entirely spontaneous. It can skip generations or pass on from mother to son, father to daughter. What divides the arcane casters is where they harness their craft from.  A sorcerer’s power for example comes from within as their magic is often found seeped in their bloodline. Or, like a wizard, it must be learned through intense study to be able to manipulate the external magic surrounding them.
