you like to keep the light on at night, but seungcheol can't sleep until the entire room is dark. but your boyfriend is too enamoured with you to tell you this, so he waits until your breathing slows down before slipping out of the sheets and flicking the light off. he thinks he's sly when he tiptoes back over to the bed, but you always grin to yourself as his arms gently wrap around you from behind, and you both fall asleep.

usually, when you come here after class, you're sure that no one will find you.
you breathe a deep sigh, muttering under your breath as you lean your forehead against the brick wall.
today, more than any day, your ex had especially gotten on your nerves. you try your best to avoid them, but it's hard to do so when you do the same damn college course.
“why do they have to follow me in the hallway... why can’t they leave me alone! god...” you grumble, lightly tapping your head against the wall, agitated.
“you are aware that walls aren’t people, right?” you hear someone say behind you.
eyes wide, you whip your head around to find jihoon standing across from you, trying not to laugh.
“yes, i’m well aware,” you sigh, turning to lean on your back and closing your eyes. “i’m just... venting my anger.”
“i see,” jihoon nods, his smirk replaced by thoughtfulness. “everything okay?”
you purse your lips. “you tell me - is being followed by an ex that desperately misses you okay?”
“definitely not,” jihoon frowns. “i’d offer to beat them up but i’m not sure that would solve anything.”
“you’re right,” you sigh. “if it would, i’d have done that ages ago.” you roll your eyes.
jihoon chuckles. “i know.” he steps forward, laying a gentle hand on your arm. “if you wanna talk about it, i’m here.”
you smile. jihoon isn’t one to be sappy, so you know he means it. as you walk with him to get coffee, you’re glad that he found you.

"i can't believe they paired us together," wonwoo huffs as he walks into your dorm room. you shut the door behind him.
"yeah, me neither. i was hoping for literally anyone else." you retort, plopping down on your bed as wonwoo reluctantly sits at your desk.
“well, i specifically asked the professors to let me work alone,” wonwoo tells you, eyes wandering around your room and the decorations you’ve put up.
“you’d rather work on an entire thesis project alone than with me?” you ask. “do you really hate me that much?” having known him since freshman year, you know for a fact that wonwoo wouldn’t risk a grade over a petty rivalry.
“no, i just prefer to do things my way,” he says pridefully, and you can tell he’s trying to annoy you.
but you just grin instead, turning your head to face him, looking past his guise. “so you don’t hate me?”
wonwoo’s eyes widen, and you almost giggle. it was common for the two of you to make fun of each other, but you know none of it is personal. wonwoo can’t fool you – you know something’s up if he’s pretending to genuinely dislike you.
“what? o-of course i do! i-i hate how stuck up you are, and how hard you try to beat me in class, how you spend hours on end at the library sitting in my favourite spot… in fact, it’s difficult for me to isolate what i hate most about you,” wonwoo keeps rambling, arms crossed.
but it just makes you smile even more, knowing that he notices you so much. “sure, okay, i believe you,” you shrug.
“can we just do our work?” wonwoo sighs, cheeks red. “they probably paired us up because they know we’re the two smartest people in the class.”
“hmm, what a genius, you finally figured it out,” you breathe out, still smiling as you sit up.
“are you finally admitting it?” wonwoo smirks, glad that you aren’t making fun of him for his obvious crush on you.
“i don’t know, are you finally gonna admit that you like me?” you raise an eyebrow at him, grinning as he looks away. you still catch the smile on his face, though – he isn’t as sly as he thinks he is. and that’s just one of the things you find cute about him.

"i know you, you're a terrible person..." with Hoshi pls
usually, when hoshi says yes to a proposal of yours, you think it’s because he’s just that kind.
from when you became friends until right now, where he sits across from you at a coffee shop, hoshi has always been kind to you and obliged to whatever you ask of him.
unknown to you is the fact that hoshi, while kind like you think, is also in love with you.
from the moment he saw you for the first time until right now, where you sit across from him with the same warm smile on your face – the one that made him fall for you in the first place – hoshi has never been able to say no to you. simply because he takes any chance to spend time with you.
however, today is different. you can’t help the furrow in your brows when hoshi shakes his head at you.
“i’m not buying you that. never,” hoshi says, sipping from his straw.
“that’s not fair! you never say no to me.” you lean forward on the table with your palms, looking straight at hoshi.
“right, but usually your requests are harmless. this one… i can’t be a part of this, no matter how-” he stops himself, taking a sip again.
“what?” you frown.
“nothing.”
you shrug. “well, you don’t even know what I’m planning.”
“yeah, but i know you, you’re a terrible person,” he jokes. but his smile immediately drops when he sees the pout on your face. “no, no, i’m just kidding-” he begins, grabbing your hands.
you grin. “i know, silly.” hoshi smiles too, relieved.
“you could never be mean to me, even if you tried,” you giggle, the pink on hoshi’s cheeks making you smile wider.
a moment passes as silence fills the air, both of you distracting yourselves from the warmth between you with your iced drinks.
“how about this?” hoshi begins, still looking at the ice floating in the glass. “if i do what you ask…”
“yes?” you stare at him expectantly.
“will you go out with me? like, on a date?” he purses his lips, ready to hear your apologetic refusal.
but he doesn’t realise that you, too, have a hard time saying no to him, ever since you realised your own feelings for him.
you grin. “i’d do that voluntarily.”

everyone knows that joshua is a gentleman. or at least, they think he is.
you, however, know better. you know how he pretends to be a gentleman when he’s really just looking to be showered in praise. of course, it’s all in good fun, and no one can resist his charm.
you tend to forget, though, that joshua will drop the mischief and teasing as soon as he needs to. and his caring instincts come out more often for you than anyone else.
like today. the moment you awaken, a throbbing headache and an uncomfortably cold warmth consumes you. as you trudge into the living room, joshua immediately senses your low energy.
“what happened to you?” he mutters, hastily pausing the video game he’s playing and rushing over to you, who is shivering even with multiple layers wrapped around you.
“i think-” you begin to speak, but only a raspy breath comes out.
“shhh,” joshua holds you, pressing his forehead against you, making your heart flutter even though he’s just checking your temperature. “i think you have a fever, baby. you need to rest.”
“no, I’m fine, I have work to do, and-” you breathe, but joshua presses a finger to your lips. he can’t help giggling as you pout against his skin and frown.
“remember when I got super sick last year, and you took time off work to take care of me?” he reminds you, cupping your cheeks. “remember how I told you I’d do the same for you?” you slowly nod, closing your eyes.
“well, let me keep that promise. please? let me take care of you.” he pleads. you sigh, knowing he’d rather spend his weekend relaxing. but with little energy to fight him, knowing how persuasive he can be, you agree.
later that day, you lay your head on joshua’s shoulder as he reads to you and lulls you to sleep with his soft voice. your eyes close as you think to yourself: as playful as he is, josh really is a gentleman when he wants to be, for you.

it wasn't often that you and joshua were out alone. you couldn't complain, though, you honestly wished it happened more. joshua was a sweetheart, always making you smile.
the two of you walked in the sun, sipping your iced drinks and making your way through the busy public park towards your friends' apartment. being the weekend, the city was packed with people trying to salvage the sunshine and warmth.
you laughed at a dumb joke joshua had made, when all of a sudden your voice died out and joshua looked at you, frowning. "what's wrong-"
before he could finish speaking, you grabbed his hand and darted to the side, off the public path. joshua almost thought you had fallen over when you suddenly crouched behind one of the rocks.
"what the heck are you doing?" joshua asked, bewildered.
"shhh!" you hissed with your finger over your lips. "look," you said, pointing ahead. joshua followed your hand to see some guy in a hawaiian shirt and mismatched shorts.
"who is that?" josh asked.
"my ex," you grumbled. "i can't let him see me. we only broke up a couple weeks ago! i was gonna throw my drink in his face if it came to it."
"yeah I can see how hiding behind a rock is a much better strategy," joshua chuckled at your dramatic reaction. "you know, he probably already saw you."
you smacked his arm lightly. "don't say that! at least be grateful i didn't randomly kiss you like they do in cheesy rom-coms!" you said, rolling your eyes.
joshua snorted. "i would definitely prefer that."
"really?" you asked, grinning at his words.
joshua blushed. "um- anyway- we can talk about that later... is your ex gone?" he mumbled.
you giggled. "yeah, he walked away ages ago."
"he did?"
"yup. just as you were confessing your love for me," you teased. this time, he rolled his eyes, and giggled as you kissed him on the cheek.

hello! can i request woozi and “Let me keep that promise.” 🥺 thank you!
"remember when we first met, and you said i had the best music taste?" woozi asks. you turn to him, his question unexpected when the two of you had just finished watching a movie.
"yes. i also remember you wanting to make me a playlist of song recommendations," you grin, reminiscing over the first time you'd met woozi through a mutual friend and bonded for hours over your favourite artists. music is such a huge part of your life, and of course, it's woozi's whole world.
"well, since it's your birthday tomorrow," he says slowly, sitting up straighter, "let me keep that promise. how would you like a playlist of new music as a present?"
you pretend to be shocked. "are you telling me you didn't already get me a present?" his eyes widen, before you burst into laughter. "just kidding, silly. I'd love that! I'd never say no to some new music to blast on my birthday," you assure him, settling into the sofa with your head back on his shoulder.
the next day, after a birthday lunch with family, a text from woozi makes your phone - and your face - light up. you smile as you see a link to a spotify playlist and a message from him:
13:26: happy birthday!! can't wait to see you at your party tonight. here's the playlist as promised. pay special attention to the titles 👀
you open the playlist, scrolling down and skim-reading the titles like he told you to. confused about what he meant, you go back to the top - when you realise that the titles form a very grammatically-incorrect sentence, which roughly goes like this:
'hey there, i like you a lot but I'm afraid you don't feel the same and so I'm confessing to you like this, i hope you don't mind. so if you don't like me back, just don't say anything and we can pretend everything's normal."
your heart uncontrollably flutters when you understand woozi's intention. of course, he's too shy to do anything like this in person, so he uses the language of music to get his thoughts across.
giggling, you hurriedly tap away on your phone. a few minutes later, send him another link in response, one that takes him to a shorter playlist. and you can only imagine his grin when he opens the link immediately to be faced with this sentence made of song titles:
"don't worry, the feeling's mutual."
