Honestly, I’m loving how all of this is going for only being in the tags about a week. The submissions we’ve received so far are great, roles are being taken up, and the ratio is pretty even. Right now I’ll be working on a few more bios that are in the drafts, so feel free to come talk about submitting or any questions you may have. And an opening date may drop soon, so be on the lookout for that!
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to remind everyone that this is officially election weekend. You can send in your votes for who you would like to become Minister for Magic today and tomorrow. Send in an ask to the main with the last name of the person your character wishes to win. We will be revealing the winner on Monday.
Happy voting!

Hello everyone!
It’s a bittersweet feeling to be winding down into the last few weeks of OotA. There are so many things that we will miss, and the characters and roleplayers that we have here have made it the best roleplay experience either of us have ever had.
That being said, we’re not done yet! There are two very important things left to do, and we’re going to talk to all of you about them now.
Like Capscien said, we will be holding elections this coming weekend. While the students only have Saturday to vote, we’ll be allowing you both Saturday and Sunday, the 16th and 17th. Yes, you actually get a say in who the next Minister of Magic will be! Send in your votes to the Main, and on Monday the 18th, the winner will be announced. Only votes sent in on those days will count, so make sure to take a few seconds to send your choice’s name in!
We’ve already seen a lot of good questions go out to the candidates, and you have all week to send in more! Don’t just choose a person based on their small bio, but take the opportunity to really explore. We’ve tried our best to make OotA entirely interactive, and this is the last step to ensure that all of you really get a part in the ending of the plot.
The last thing we want to discuss is the End of School Dance. It will take place on our last days of roleplaying, July 29th to the 31st. Families are allowed to attend, so there might be some fun interactions to be had if you want your character’s family to come. There will be a post at the beginning of the event detailing how the lantern lighting went, and then you will have those three days to roleplay the dance afterwards.
We’ve told you before that the House with the most points will get a reward before the last days, and now we’ll tell you what that reward will be: one professor will give a speech during the dance to send the seventh years off into the world, and the winning House will get to choose the professor! You still have a couple of weeks before the end (we’ll calculate the last points on the 29th and give two days for the House to vote, so that the post can go up on the last day as a final farewell). Do some Prompts, Challenges, or Development to round out your character before the end and give your House the chance to choose the professor they want to hear from!
It’s a celebration both for your characters, and for you. A few last days of fun before the roleplay will close. We hope it’ll give everyone the happy ending that they’re looking for!
If there are any questions that you have regarding anything left in the roleplay, don’t be afraid to come to us. We’re still here with you for the rest of the month, and we’re more than willing to help you in any way that we can!

And with those final posts, the final event for OotA Roleplay has officially come to an end.
This does not mean that roleplaying is over! There are still many things we have ready to tie up all loose ends, and we have the rest of this month to enjoy each other and have some peace in our character’s lives before it all comes to an end. We hope that there can be growth come out of all of this, and that these next few weeks can bring about a sort of peace for roleplayer and character alike.
A few tips for the end of the event:
If you would like to interact with the Headmistress, Lorcan Fitzsimmons, Aaron Cohen, or any auror or professor, feel free to message us and we’ll help you out. This is your opportunity to talk to some of the big plot characters, and we’re excited to extend this offer to you.
You may continue threads from the event to finish them, and you may now also move back to roleplay as normal.
Make sure to keep in mind that the castle is destroyed (including some of Hufflepuff and Slytherin dorms), so if you have any questions regarding anything, please don’t hesitate to ask us.
Until further notice, the students will all be sleeping together in the Great Hall. The younger years will be arriving back at Hogwarts over the next couple of days.
Pomfrey will be coming around to heal injuries, both major and minor, and you may write with her if you so desire without any sort of main assistance needed.
We would also like to extend the offer at this time for anyone to message us regarding their family and any questions they might have regarding them for the end of the event and/or roleplay.
For example, if you want to know about their safety, their part in the plot, if they were at the battle at Hogwarts, etc, message us and we’ll answer any questions for you. We want all of you to be in charge of yourselves, because we know that you’ll have more questions than we could ever think to answer without you asking them.
Communication is the key. If there are loose ends that you’re questioning, don’t be afraid to communicate with us. If you don’t understand something that happened, we’re here to help explain it! As everything draws to an end, we really want all of you to be able to be a part of it, and we want to make sure that you’re all ready and willing to jump in with us.
Thank you all so much for another wildly amazing event, and we can’t wait to finish this month out with all of you.

Hello everyone!
We have just a few reminders to put out for you all as our last event approaches.
Please remember that as with all events, old threads will be dropped as the event starts. This means that only event threads can be had during the event times. It makes it much easier to keep everything straight, and gives opportunity to push everything forward. With this in mind, you only have today and tomorrow to finish any threads that you like, or to headcanon endings for them. You are allowed to posts the headcanons and if the thread is important for character development we highly recommend it. The event will start at 12 AM, CST, on Friday, so there is very little time left!
With this last event, being in groups, it is very important that you speak with all members of your group. For the start of the event when groups are still together, until notified that the separation has taken place, make sure to speak to as many characters as you can! We will add a list of each group’s members to their first individual group post, so that as soon as your group is separated you know who you can talk to with new things.
House points will be tallied tonight at 10 PM, CST, so today is your last day to earn points to try and win the event teaser. Points can still be earned after this time to help your House win a special surprise at the end of the roleplay. The teaser will be posted in the winning House’s common room shortly after the points are tallied.
Keep an eye on the Resources page for a post that all plot has been updated. Make sure that you’re up to date on everything, and if anything confuses you or leaves you with questions, message the main! This last event brings everything to a head, so we want you to understand everything that has led to this.
If you ever have any questions about things, starting now and lasting throughout the end of everything, don’t hesitate to ask! We don’t want anyone to feel overwhelmed, or to feel like they don’t understand what to do. This is supposed to be fun for all of us, and lead to great plot and character development, so we want everyone to be able to put their all into it!
Thank you all so much. We look forward to another great and final event!

And now, something you’ve all been waiting for.
Details for OotA’s final event:
Hello all of our lovely roleplayers!
We just want to thank everyone who played a part in our Plot Day event! We had eighteen plot pieces posted in less than two days, which is absolutely astounding. They were all such high caliber of writing, and everyone seemed so excited that we have never been more proud to be a part of such an amazing group.
We’ve always said that a roleplay is only as good as it’s roleplayers, and we have the best group here that we ever could have asked for. It’s all of you who have made this roleplay last for the two years it’s been open, and it’s all of you who are going to carry us through the end!
Our next big event is next month, and you can find a teaser for it here. Until then, Plot Day gave us so many amazing things to work with in terms of preparing and setting your characters up for the biggest event we’ve ever had here at OotA--something that gives you choice in the direction your character goes, and lasts seven days to provide enough time to get it all done.
There is a lot of work cut out for us in the upcoming month to prepare this for you, and to be honest, we’re just as excited about what’s happening now. We can’t wait to see how you all take your plot pieces and grow them and combine them and share them.
We kept track of the plots here, and our suggestion is that you look through the list and pick at least two people to reach out to. They can be people that connect with your plot, or just plot pieces that you find interesting that you want to expand from. We really want to get everything circulating and we think that this month is the best opportunity to pull everyone as deeply into the plot as they can be so that this upcoming event is the explosion we know it can be.
As always, if anyone has any questions, comments, concerns, or simply wants to talk about absolutely anything (from characters to the plot to real life), we’re here for all of you.
Thank you once again for being incredible.
