Over two years ago, we both started this roleplay in an attempt to make a place that we could be accepted, feel loved, and write with people who cared as much as we did. Today, we are proud to say that we have accomplished all of those goals.
Each and every one of you have been so special to us. There were some really special ones that we lost along the way, and if any of you are checking in to read this, we want to thank you too. We missed you, and wish that you could have been here for the end with us.
As Admin M likes to say, a roleplay is only as good as its players. We could have created this plot, put all of our work into it, and without all of you, nothing ever would have happened. This roleplay could have fizzled out in less than a month like 99% of roleplays seem to do. It could have been riddled with drama, making it impossible to get on. It could have been taxing dealing with surface characters, trying to dig deeper but never being able to. But it wasn’t. And that’s not because of us, who are only two people and such a small percentage of the roleplay... It’s because of all of you. Each and every one of you who put your best foot forward, wrote from your heart, and loved this roleplay just as much as we did.
It is, sadly, time to move on from OotA. We always knew that we had a story to tell, and that once it was told, this would be over. We didn’t want to drag it out until it had to die. Two years is an amazingly long time, and we know that we could keep going, but we feel that all of us have reached a point with our characters that it’s okay to end. It’s okay to close this book; we can keep it close, reading it again when we feel the need to reminisce.
As for what the future holds--who knows? All of you will no doubt move on to great things. Whether it be in your work, your school, your writing, or other aspects of your life, we know that you’ll all do amazing. This is a wonderful group of people we get to end with, and we hope that you all know that.
For us... we’ve got more coming. We’ll be opening another roleplay, and if chance has it that you find and join us again, we look forward to the opportunity to grow in our writing with you even more.
Don’t hesitate to message us after this post. If you need to say some final things, or you want to keep in contact, we’ll be checking this blog every so often over the next couple of weeks. You’ve all become such an important part of our lives, we know we’ll be missing all of you for far longer than we can even imagine.
To end this roleplay, we’ll go to one of Admin R’s favorite quotes:
How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.
Goodbye, good luck, and thank you all.
