From two different worlds they always say each other from a distance. The pretend to never see each other because they were not supposed to. One living in the sea a beautiful boy who would sing late at night. One living on land always sneaking to the sea to play his guitar.
One night the boy named Jiro heard a beautiful voice singing along to the tunes but could never make out where they were coming from at first. The one from sea Jyushi always would keep his distance since he was taught humans are dangerous. (read further below the cut)
Both noticed didnât even looked out for who was playing/singing but instead just enjoyed each other tunes and some form of company. It wasnât until sometime later that Jiro started noticing a person in the water far away but still see able if you knew where to look.
He never did anything to move closer because then he had to walk into the water, and he didnât want to be wet because he was supposed to be at home. He would always stare at the figure though trying to make out features. It went on like that for a while until the other stopped singing⊠Jyushi had now noticed Jiro saw him, or at least his silhouette.
He now looked at the other and it became a staring contest. Jiro didnât move but did keep staring hoping the other would move closer. Both didnât move eventually but now the sun was getting up. Jiro had to leave now so het stood up to leave. Before he left he waved to the sea and saw the other wave back shyly.
This was the new routine for a few weeks until Jiro finally had enough and stood this time in the cold sea. The water reached his knees and het started playing the guitar again he had noticed Jyushi moved closer to shore. He kept playing but now he could see his voice from up closer than ever before.
âhe is so prettyâ Jiro thought as he kept playing and the other was now smiling at him. Jyushi couldnât really speak these human languages but music brought them together it made him happy. They kept on playing and singing in this nice night until sun rose again and made them separate.
What was relieving to the both of them was that they would see each other again the next night and the night after that and so on.
a/n: this is a drabble for now but it might change into a fic later on
After his breakdown yesterday Jiro had started again trying to do his homework. Now more determined than ever to actually finish it this time. He even asked if he could get Roshoâs number for tutoring since he offered it to the both of them.
As of now he made one question and it was already a big thing. Of course his happiness had to end when his little brother was in the doorway âJiro you havenât finished already? Are you really that stupid?â he put up his usual mockery tone. Normally he would respond back but after yesterday this had hurt him deeply.
(more below the cut)
He held it strong and told Saburo kindly âcan you fuck offâ before he stood up and shut the door right in his face. He saw the shock on his brothers face but needed to shut it just for one day. He hadnât realised how fresh his breakdown was until he was crying again. No he thought I am not stupid I just donât understand.
He kept thinking like that until he was calm enough and decided to call a number. After a few rings, the receiver picked up âhello Jiro-kunâ Rosho spoke first âhi sensei sorry for calling on such a late time but I need helpâ and he heard some shuffling from the other side of the line.
After a while, another voice spoke up âRosho you left your phone hereâ that sounded like Sasara and then another popped up âwhy the fuck is Jiro even calling you?â that was certainly Samatoki. âboth of you shut upâ Rosho called from a distance as he heard walking getting closer. âI am sorry for those twoâ he apologised âanyways we can set up a meeting if you need itâ he continued on.
âthat would be niceâ he responded before he got a knock on the door. âCan it wait? Someone is at my doorâ he asked and got a yes back. He stood up and now opened the door it was Saburo again. âI am sorry I guessâ he started off looking down in shame. The I guess stuck with him âwhy are you saying I guess? Like as if you donât mean itâ he accidently slipped now.
He looked away now âI am sorry Jiro you arenât stupidâ he now said to him but a I am sorry was just not enough âSaburo the I am sorry is not enough now I am sorry but please leave for nowâ he asked his younger brother now in a wavering tone.
Saburo just looked hurt but also guilty but didnât go against his brothers request. He left back to his own room. And Jiro closed the door again and after a deep sigh he picked up the phone again. âI am ready to start the callâ he told him, and a noise was heard like a faint Sasara screaming and Samatoki getting mad before Rosho was back. âOkay it is just the room like last timeâ.
Being stupid and not understanding are two different things
Click⊠click Jiro kept clicking his pen on his homework. Why was it so difficult? He couldnât understand but he didnât want to ask for help. He can do it! He kept thinking to himself I donât need help I should be able to do that he thoughts more.
But still his unfinished homework said otherwise. He kept staring at it like that would help finish it. He kept staring and staring but all he had was blank⊠he didnât understand it at all. Maybe what Saburo kept telling him was true. He is stupid and a good for nothing brother.
(read more below the cut)
As of now he had put away his homework he didnât wanted to be reminded anymore but instead he started to cry. Maybe listening to his favourite music would help he thoughts when he went and put that one on his headphones. But instead he cried even more he was so mad at himself for not understanding for being so stupid.
He didnât check in with anyone but stayed inside his room for the next hour. He wouldnât respond to anyone knocking even Ichiro. He wasnât eating too and that started to worry Ichiro because he would usually come down immediately when dinner was ready.
At this he asked Kuko if Jyushi could check up with Jiro because he was not responding to him or even Saburo. Jiro at this point had curled himself up and closed himself off from the outside world. Suddenly his music stopped, and he checked⊠Jyushi was calling him.
He picked up after the second time Jyushi tried to call âJiro? Jiro are you alright?â he asked right of the bat sounding worried. âI am doing okayâ he tried to play it off, but his voice sounded cracked because he had been crying. âYou donât sound okay to me Jiroâ Jyushi replied âJiro how are you?â and a silence was reached.
âI am not doing okay Jyushiâ he finally responded âI canât understand anything school is teaching me because I am stupid, dumb and useless I could never understandâ he cried out the last part. After a few hums âJiro let me tell you are doing your best and what you are doing is enoughâ a pause âthere is a difference between being actually stupid and not understanding but trust me its fine to ask anyone if you donât know even if you donât want toâ he finished off.
âThank youâ was all Jiro let out âcan we talk some more?â he asked soon after. âWe can Jiro we canâ Jyushi responded.
A cough was heard from the studio Ramuda was drawing in. This wasnât unusual since he was indeed still dying. It was not unusual to cough up blood on occasion but lately he had been coughing up more and more.
He couldnât understand why. He was healthy and his teammates took good care of him. He just brushed it off and wiped away the blood like usual. âtoday on the newsâ âoh the news was on againâ Ramuda thought while he went on drawing. He normally would just listen on the background but not pay attention until he heard âin Shinjuku the miracle doctor Jinguji Jakurai had saved another life again of a patientâ and the rest blurred out again.
Somewhere deep down Ramuda missed talking to Jakurai. âhe was an annoying old bag but at least he was fun to talk toâ he thought and then the coughing began again. This time it was worse, and the blood was so deep it stained so much but then he noticed it. One single flower petal in his blood he coughed up.
Why was his coughing so bad whenever he thought of Jakurai? And why is there a flower petal now? He had so many questions but all he could do for now was to clean up the mess and go on with his life.
They met again but now in the next meeting. Ichiro saw Kuko again for the first time in forever and it hurts him. A red string showed up between them but Kuko didnât say anything. Ichiro remembered clear as day how Kuko wished they were never soulmates.
It made Ichiro almost tear up again but he had to stay strong âHello Kukoâ Ichiro spoke to him but Kuko still ignored it. Ichiro now had enough of the pain and burn Kuko face just caused.
A while later when they were in their own rooms Ichiro had asked to leave him alone and so his brothers backed-off. He sat in his room and the string showed again meaning he was close to him. He grabbed a pair of scissors and snap.
As Doppo woke up he sighed. He woke up what a disappointment he thought as he looked on the phone. At this rate he would be late, but he didnât care anymore. He was so tired why couldnât anyone let him be? Why was he still here? He just laid awake now and was debating to call in sick today.
After a little while he decided to call in sick after all and his boss wasnât happy at all he called so short before his shift. He barley kept it together and waited until he could hang up. When he finally was alone with his thoughts again he had to remind himself to keep quiet. Hifumi was sleeping in the room across to him after all.
(rest below the cut)
He quietly got dressed even though he wanted to sleep he couldnât anymore his head was too full. After a while he stepped out of the apartment, skipping breakfast because he wasnât hungry. Â He got down and out of the apartment complex and walked. He had left everything at home and just kept walking.
He didnât even realise when it got dark. He had been walking for a long time around Shinjuku trying to clear his mind. At one point he was at the station and it was calm like it usually would be at night. He just looked down and then noticed on the board a train was coming in a few minutes. He let down a few tears was he seriously considering this?
Then he heard âDoppo!â behind him and there he was his sunshine running to him. He let out a laugh he shouldnât have worried Hifumi so much. âDoppo? Youâre alright? I was so worried you were no where to be foundâ Hifumi went off and checking him all over for wounds.
Then he stopped at his face where his tears were still very much present âDoppo? I was really worried there come on letâs go back homeâ he wanted to pull along Doppo, but he stood still. âWhat if I donât want to Hifumi? My life is uselessâ he cried now while he tried to wipe away his tears.
Hifumi showed a smile and pulled him in for a hug âyou are not useless Doppo I still love you and its okay to cryâ he now patted him on the back and the response was an even harder sob. They stayed like this until Doppo was ready to get up and go home again. He should have known he at least had one person that cared about him and for him.
Since last week he got a tutor now Rosho who was willingly to help him, and he was so thankful for him. Rosho was a kind teacher and would go on his tempo and was very understanding. He denied being wanted to be paid by saying âI am doing this so you can prove youâre strong so donât worry about itâ.
This week they would meet up for the weekly progress report since they often had their sessions online. Jiro was waiting nervously in the living room for Rosho since he had notified him a few minutes ago they were almost there. Saburo had gone out for the day to meet up with his friends and Ichiro was going out with Kuko, Sasara and Samatoki.
(more below the cut)
Somewhere deep down he was happy for that because it was just him and Rosho. A knock was now heard on the front door âOi Ichiro we are here nowâ Samatoki loudly spoke through the door. âhold your horses Tokiâ Ichiro yelled from the other side of the room. âJiro can you open up the door?â his brother asked him, and he nodded âsure thing⊠also since when is Samatoki âTokiâ?â he asked while he walked to the door.
âits just to piss him offâ Ichiro laughed while he was still packing up some stuff to take along on the trip. He had opened the door at this point and the 4 men walked right in âHello Jiroâ and a âHi bro 2â were heard as he let them pass him. Rosho stayed with him while the other 3 walked to Ichiro to annoy him probably.
âHello Senseiâ Jiro started off looking at him âJiro-kun please just call me Roshoâ he told Jiro once again like he usually would. âalright Rosho then⊠where would you like to set-up?â he asked the other as the 4 others were about to leave by the looks of it.
He smiled now âlets set-up at the dinner table shall weâ he motions towards the table âoh sure while you set-up everything would you like anything to drink?â he asked as they walked towards the table. In the meanwhile Ichiro yelled âgoodbye make sure to eat dinner! Rosho make sure he wonât burn the house downâ before the click was heard.
âI would like tea Jiro-kunâ Rosho responded after a little pause and Jiro walked towards the kitchen to boil the water and grab the tea bags. After a while he left the kitchen with in one hand the boiled water and in the other the tea bags. âhere you go Rosho I am going to grab a glass of sodaâ he set it all down before disappearing again.
While Rosho had picked out the tea flavour Jiro had already returned with his glass. He saw the whole set-up a few books and a laptop already booted up. âso Jiro-kun let us start shall weâ he started off opening his document on the laptop âplease take a seatâ he told him quickly after.
Jiro chose to sit next to Jiro so he could see what Rosho was doing, and he took his first sip âso we are going to start with Japanese specifically kanji readingâ he started off looking at his notes. Rosho started laying down what he had noticed and how he could possibly help but still he had a lot of catching up to do. The teacher was nice about it and kept telling him that some just have trouble learning but still Jiro felt terrible.
Why was everything so difficult? There is too much text to concentrate, and he just couldnât keep his attention in his lessons. âJiro-kun? Jiro?â Had stopped talking now and looked the boy sitting next to him. Jiro was too deep in thoughts to notice Rosho had noticed he wasnât paying attention anymore. âJiro?â he called out once more before he just simply closed the book he had opened.
Rosho took a deep sigh âJiro my boyâ he started now placing a hand on his back âshould we take a small break?â he finished looking at him. He could see small tears in the corner of his eyes, but Jiro only nodded. Rosho could notice whatever they were doing it had cut down in Jiro in a negative way. âJiro say can I tell you something?â he asked now pulling Jiro into his side and felt a nod. âlearning is different for everyone but there is a difference in not understanding but doing nothing about it and not understanding but trying to understand itâ he paused.
âJiro my boy you are trying your hardest and that is most of importanceâ he finished and now he heard a sniffle. He smiled slightly when he saw Jiro cry and then suddenly Jiro had hugged him. Rosho froze not sure what to do but after a few seconds he put his hands on his back. âit is going to be fine Jiro okay. We are going to work on it, and you can always call me if you need itâ he reassured the teen.
He had to remind himself Jiro was still young, and he just needed some reassurance from someone while he let Jiro cry more in his shoulder. They stayed in silence a little longer while Rosho stroke his back now and hushing him. When the crying stopped Jiro looked up in embarrassment and pulled himself off Roshoâs lap.
âI am sorryâ he let out while he went and sat down again next to him and Rosho let out another sigh âit is fine Jiro we all need some comforts so please donât say sorryâ he told him while he sipped his tea. âcome here we can continue later everyone will be out until tomorrow right?â Jiro nodded at that.
Rosho closed his laptop and stood up âlets do something fun now take your mind off itâ he offered looking around he didnât know what, but they could find something. âletâsâ Jiro responded back while he stood up to lead Rosho to the tv to watch his favourite show to distract himself for now.
The next day rose and Hifumi sat up from his bed in his room. He missed being able to see the sunrise in person but he was taken care of. He stood up and was reminded of the chain around his ankle. It dreaded him a bit but after his attempted escape Doppo did this to hold him down.
He always would tell how pretty Hifumi looked and how lucky he is to have him all for him self. Ah he heard in the room next to him Doppo getting up to get to work and let Hifumi roam the main space to do chores. He was always chained anywhere he would go and he hadnât been outside in⊠god how long.
âHifumi~â Doppo sounded from the entry⊠another day had started.
