Are there any good art colleges? Because im really aiming to be a animator, illustrator or go into video game design.
Hi Anon,Ā
Yes, there are many amazing art colleges! Unfortunately, Iām not totally familiar with the admissions process. But here are some resources that you might find helpful:

I know that a lot of universitiesĀ (USC,Ā Yale, RISD, UCLA,Ā Pratt etc.)Ā offer art programsĀ that are worth researching. Also, if youāre looking into video game design, you might consider studying computer science.Ā I have a friend who is majoring in CS and interned at EA last summer. AnotherĀ one of my friends is double majoring in art and computer science to become an animator. So there are many different paths to reach your goal!
Good luck!
I'm applying for college soon, and I have a problem. I play 2 sports that are usually offered at schools, track and tennis, and my number one school doesn't have athletics, but my second and third choices do. Which one should I go for?? I'm really stressed about it, and I've been asking a lot of people about it and I still don't have much advice on it.
Well I think the first thing to consider is what level you want to run track and play tennis at. There are usually three levels of athletics in college: varsity, club and intramural. Have you checked if your top choice offers club or intramural teams? Many students (including myself) who were athletic in high school were drawn to these programs. A lot of schools also have running/triathlon groups that are worth looking into. There might be a ton of athletic opportunities that you might be interested in! A quick Google search should help you out.
However, if this isnāt the case I think that this question becomes a matter of priorities. Sports become one of the many factors that you have to consider when picking a school (along with academic programs, weather, cost, etc.). Personally, I found it very helpful to list out all of these factors into a pro-cons list because it neatly organized all of things I liked and disliked about a school. Maybe you can make one for your top choice to help you decide if its worth going to a school that doesnāt offer track and tennis.
Finally, I think it is also important to imagine what you want out of your college experience. Instead of considering yourself as a college freshman, imagine what your life looks like as a college senior. Are athletics part of that picture? What would it be like if you didnāt have tennis and track? Answering these questions will help you understand if athletics are a determining factor in choosing a school because it might totally change your experience.
Hope that helped! Feel free to message us again if something wasnāt clear or you have another question.
Good luck!
To all of you guys feeling that college rejection sting. It happens to the best of us! Keep your head up
Ky 101: A Thank You Note
āThere are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.ā -Albert Einstein
Itās all too easy to take for granted and forget how extraordinarily fortunate you are. As the stress and workload of college increases, I find myself being guilty of this more and more often. This Thanksgiving break has been wonderful and has given me some time and space to remember how lucky I am. So here are a few things Iām thankful for: My family:Ā I'veĀ missed them so much. Even though theyāre far from perfect, Iām so glad that I have them, and Iām able to spend Thanksgiving with them. My friends from high school: Weāve been through so much together. Theyāre always there for me. They understand me better than anyone else, and I wouldnāt be who I am today without them. My friends from college: They are a major part of what has made college so great. We havenāt known each other for long, but we have a lot of great times together ahead of us. My dorm: I have the best dorm ever. Weāre like a family of 94 people. Theyāre so supportive and friendly and open and just fantastic. My classes and professors: They are amazing. They challenge me and force me to think in new ways.Ā I'veĀ already noticed that the way I think has changed because of them. The fact that Iām attending Stanford: As a guy in my dorm said in a moment of extreme corny-ness, āEveryday here is the fulfillment of a dream," and it's true. Every year, thousands of people dream about coming here to live and learn, and I am one of the fortunate few who are able to achieve that dream. I am so grateful. The simple pleasures: the beach the sound of the ocean delicious California burritos peppermint mochas interesting conversations late-night escapades on the boat playground swings eggnog the fact that Iām done with college admissions my Queen sized bed hot showers pumpkin carving adventures in new and old places rediscovering Modest Mouse Christmas music warm, long hugs Battlestar Galactica PSETs sleeping in my friendās Netflix account the sound of rain mashed potatoes the teachings of the Wizard being alive the memories of the past the hope of the future the glory of the present
UC APPLICATION Question 2
Q: whatās is something to write about in the additional comments for the personal statement question?
Ā A: You can literally write anything you want, but don't make it a third essay. It can be anything from telling the school you have a sibling your extremely close to who attends a certain UC and you want to be closer to them to a request for them to look at your senior year grades.Ā
UC APPLICATION Question 1
Q: im so nervous to apply! any tips? i cant even start my essay. i feel like ive never done anything great gahhhh :( how did you start yours
Ā A: Your essay doesnāt have to be about how you cured cancer. Trust me youāve done something! Be creative, think about your life from a different perspective. For example, I know a girl who just wrote about being thanked by a stranger on the street and she was accepted to UC Berkeley and UCLA. Also I have another friend who talked about her love of math through puns. She wrote things such as āthere is no limit to my abilitiesā. Get itā¦? Like a limitā¦.like a calculus limitā¦..hahaha
Ā Iād also advice that you create an outline before you start writing. Literally write down the traits that you want to portray through your essay. So write down if you want to be portraying yourself as a leader, creative, or passionate.
Ā Hope thatās helpful!
