I finished Veilguard a while back but haven't been able to post anything about it. These are sketches for my Rook, Vian de Riva!

I imagined her as a former circle mage from Southern Thedas who sought refuge in Antiva after the Mage-Templar War. So, she distrusts the abomination on the team. But, you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar, and - in her mind - Spite's affinity for her will make him easier to wrangle. She then caught feelings for both Spite and Lucanis. It's hard not to when Lucanis is shining those big brown eyes at her.

In my heart shes a lot meaner than the game would allow her to be #but she softens with Lucanis/Spite and with Jacobus since she sees herself in him #she had amazing chemistry with the Butcher - I wish he was in more of the game! I just really liked their conversation #i dunno since I was thinking that Vian isn't originallyfrom Antiva I think that conversation with the Butcher worked for me on another leve #I really want to draw that scene but I've been swamped :(#It's been interesting to play through the entire Dragon Age series for the first time!#Admittedly #I struggled with datv - there were things I just did not like but there were things that I did.#I'm mixed about it but maybe on a replay my opinions will soften.#It's been fun to read everyone's opinions though! Far enough into The Silt Verses to get to the first episode that starts with an 'extreme body horror' content warning. I now see the actual good thing that years of tumblrcore folk horror have been poorly imitating.
