RAW on Apple iPhone SE 2020
With everything out there messing with our brains towards either a paid subscription or lukewarm marketing hype, I have to conclude that the Adobe Lightroom for Mobile is the winner among the midst, opening up the new possibility of delivering “doable” image quality on a basic Apple smartphone.
Of course, attempts to do a versus comparison between Adobe’s DNG and Apple’s ProRAW DNG will confirm that the latter format will yield an even more impressive image quality, having an added leverage of AI computation capability right on top of a raw DNG file. (IF and only if, you own the flagship iPhone 12 Pro/Max variant)
But for the rest who only owns an iPhone SE 2020 (or iPhone 11 series and iPhone 12) , the Adobe DNG will easily edge out both the HEIC/JPEG default quality generated by these smartphones, trading some post processing time for significantly better image quality!
