Oscar Grant, young man from Hayward,California gets shot in a back, from a bart police officer Johannes Mehserle, the Bart police officer's excuse he thought gripped his tazer but instead he reached for his gun  killing Grant in a split second on Fruitvale Bart station. Viral videos takened from passengers going outbound on bart rocked the social world sparking massive protests/Riots against Yohannes. 

+Johannes Mehserle did 2 years of time for Murder , was released last year 2011 and is now living well.+

There was a belief once that we lived in a nation that based its principles on Justice and freedom that every man was born with certain unalienable rights which can not be taken away. Senator John McCain was famous back in the war in Vietnam where he was caught and beatened for several months before he was released. and running for president and losing to the first African American president Barck Obama... co-wrote the famous NDAA.. wants to leak or spy on people on the internet to search for "terrorist" and now wants the U.S to lead air strike in syria????? COME ON NOW JOHN! WE ARE BROKE AND YOU WANT TO SPEND MORE OF OUR TAXPAYER MONEY TO BOMB A COUNTRY THAT CANT GOVERN THEMSELVES. sir you need to retire all of your decisions are all dumb... in california governor jerry brown people want to cut down education to cause Anarchy accross the state we are so broke we have to turn green lol you know damn right there is someone making money off of that recology bullshit.. Fight for Education Tommorow March 5th Rally to the Capital

We seen every error that the Legislature made in this State. Tolls on bay area bridges are being funded in another country. Renewable resources,construction waste being sent to china to be manufactured, State funds fund prisons more then schools instead of our future, our kids.

Their Infamous error on cutting down budget on education will be the error that history remember forever. Public education should be free everyone knows that so why are we paying for $46 per unit now FOR CCSF, why are you in debt after you graduate from a State University or CSU? AND HALF OF THESE GRADUATES HAVE A 50/50 PERCENT CHANCE ON FINDING A JOB EVEN IF THEY HAVE A B.S.OR M.D.

Governor Jerry Brown wants to fund Prisons why????? and tax the middle class. Think about it in the long run.. City College of San Francisco is being gutted 25 million dollars if his tax proposal to legislature passes that means the 100,000 kids that CCSF serves will be cut down to just 12,000 kids and half will be put on a 2 year notice just to get the classes they need because budget is so tight.. that means kids will lose their sense of direction because they cant afford education that is suppose to be free.

SFUSD is sending pink slips to 485 teachers, classrooms around san francisco will have to take all the kids and cramp them in classrooms (NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND) because of being short staffed. 

Please to those who will read my blog please come out tommorow and protest the governor and the budget cuts on education.. without the necessary funds for education we have no future our kids have no future..

For Lori Gopiao

This Christmas Season we all need to remind ourselves on one thing, " anything is possible when you put your mind to it.

Reading about Ms. Lori's Gopiaos story made me think, about myself making Hospital Visits to my mother back in 1996.

Leukemia? i didnt even know, what Leukemia was back then, I was just seven years old at the time a skinny big headed kid who just like to stay on his Super Nintendo all the day  of course I did not know what Leukemia was, I just knew that it was a serious illness. My mother like Ateh Lori was also a nurse, she knew all of the symptoms of cancer known as leukemia so she went to the docter and he confirmed it, but it was confirmed to late.

My mother also went trough chemotheraphy, being the most religious person that i knew in my life at the time, we went trough many churchs she kept praying every night just to be 100 % Healthy to see me grow up being her last youngest son,she fought for it till the end. 

everyday after school dad would get me and we go straight to mom's everytime the docter said they had to run more tests, she would be confined for weeks,  my mom even tough she was on her hospital bed would always tell me " to pray for her to get better, of course I would pray everynight for her. I wouldnt cry til the end.

My mom was terminal according to the docter she had only a few months to live. we went everywhere to my aunt in Canada , to the Philippines to my mother's home of Ilagan, Isabella,where i met all my cousins for the first time, of course i had fun, at least thats what my mom wanted me to do, spending time with her was the best times of my life being a kid.,dad married my mom December 28th 1996 ,Most beautiful memory of my life is seeing her happy wearing her wedding dress , 

Altough her body was getting weak, her skin geting dark, my mom kept her cool she still had that elegence and beauty that she had ever since she was young. sporting wigs letting everyone know even tough she was sick and dying, she was gonna go out with class. She passed away march 25th 1997Even tough my mom is gone she left me her timeless presence in the picture albums and portraits of pictorials that still hang in my room today, which gives me strength and inspiration to pass all trials, I miss her so much.I have endured pain as well growing up without her, I would have given up life early, if it wasnt for her because i know that i would never match the strength that my mom had but i know i can harness it because her memory will always be my enternal source of strength.

I made a promise to myself growing up the pain i have felt losing my mother that no kid should have to go trough that feeling, and those who have the power of making a difference can make a change for those who need that healing hand has to step up and help out.

We as Pilipinos are known for our kindness and generosity. Ms. Lori is asking for our help.  doesnt make sense that theres a milion of us here in the U.S but cant spent 10 mins to make a difference in return to save  someone's life.

We have the Eqiupment today that we did not have years ago let harness it.

Lets give Ms. Lori Gopiao the gift of Christmas the Gift of Life and the wishes of her children for their mommy to be 100% Healthy .

Find it in your heart to help those in need this christmas, a simple gift is anothers blessing.

To the Philippine Catholic Church.

PHILIPPINES – In 2007, statistics showed that there had only been 41 recorded cases of HIV/AIDS among the Pilipino youth from 15-24 years old, who were engaging in risky sexual activities. In just 3 years, the number of HIV/AIDS cases increased from 41 to a new high of 489 recorded cases in 2010. The Philippines sits among seven countries (Armenia, Bangladesh, United State's State of Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.) in the world with steadily rising cases of HIV/AIDS. Why Was This Ever Allowed? There are a number of factors as to why the number of HIV/AIDS Cases has increased to Epidemic Proportions in the Philippines. #1 reason is because Philippines has no system of separation of church and state, the Philippine Catholic church wide influence on the Philippine Government. The Philippine Catholic church being "Pro-Life", opposes any Organization or Piece of Legislature or bill that supports the idea of Contraception or the use of birth control, in their opinion contributes to the ideas of "Abortion" which is illegal in the Philippines. #2 reason with "Abortion" being illegal in the Philippines which weights down on the one of freedoms that women should have. #3 reason there is no sex education or any sort of program that teaches about family planning in the school system. Children up to the age of 15 years old has no information of what forms of contraceptives that can help them stop the transmission of HIV/AIDS. Outcome? There are many outcomes that will take place upon this matter of not having Sex Education in public system, no programs that relate to family Planning and Birth control. Philippine Population will only increase, uneducated students straight and homosexual will experiment with their partner or several sexual partners unaware that they have contraceptives they can use to practice safe sex, to help them from the transmission of the HIV/AIDS Virus. Poverty and financial hardship rises with the amount of families that cant support their children trough school. Some Pilipino Families are thrown out in the streets with no housing and food, forced to clean out garbage in search for food. Pilipino fathers and mothers leaving their children behind, are forced to go overseas or to the United States for to find a better future for their families. If you have watched ABS-CBS's Segment "HARAPAN 2011 REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH (RH) BILL DEBATE". One Anti-RH Bill Panelist, argues "Why should we spend Millions of dollars on Contraceptives" in their opinion it will cause in the long run Breast Cancer or death? according to Statistics?,data set up by other experts not him. "Contraceptives if used properly reduce the chances of getting the HIV/AIDS Virus and other STDs. It will cause breast cancer or death depending on what kind of material is used in the brand of Contraceptives that is obtained from the market. Lets try and help bring forth positive change for the betterment of Pilipino Society,for the tears of the mothers who saw every inch of pain imaginable and for the future generations of children who are to be borne in the grips of poverty. Immigration Reform.

The United States, Being the melting pot people of different culture and race. People Are drawn to the Idea that they can start a life with open opportunities. The U.S Paints its picture as "the land of opportunity", these people must live up to its promise. People will always get in to the U.S legally or not illegally to follow that certain dream. See everyone who comes to the U.S Comes from the eternal struggle where they is just not ENOUGH Money, poor housing and lack of government support to its people. Its not right to take away the opportunities for the kids who already is in the public school systems and Colleges system to be limited to good opportunities to people with out legal papers in the U.S. These laws legalizes the Ideas of RACIAL PROFILING. please ! have some FUCKING COMMON SENSE ASSHOLES. WE NEED  TO ACT NOW... ITS THE 2000s NOW IT AINT THE 60s ANYMORE. PEOPLE THINK ITS JUST A LATINO THING NAH IT AINT !!!!!!!!!!! ITS ALSO ABOUT ASIANS TOO. VOICES WILLL BE HEARD AND THE DREAM FOR CHANGE WILL BECOME A REALITY THAT ALLL OF GOD'S CHILDREN LIVING ON THIS EARTH WILL BE GIVEN THE SAME BLESSINGS AND PRIVILEGES.

Mano po by Manuel Viloria

Philippine Culture and Mano Po

In the Philippines, children are taught to respect their elders. One way of expressing respect is by "kissing" the right hand of an older person when you greet them.

Actually, you don't really kiss that hand. You just bow a bit, and gently take the older person's right hand with your right hand, and move it towards your own forehead. Sometimes, it's the back of their hand that touches your forehead. More often, it's the knuckles.

Mano means "right" (opposite of "left") and po is a word (?) you say to show respect.

Usually, it's the kids who execute the "Mano Po" although adults will also do this especially when visiting their parents, or the parents of their girlfriend.

If the household predominantly speaks Tagalog or Filipino, chances are the "Mano Po" is practiced. If the family speaks mostly in English, chances are they don't practice the "Mano Po" often (if at all).

Anyway, just observe how the others behave as these "rules" can change from one home to another.

Some adults show this kind of respect to the Cardinal, Monsignor or the parish priest.

Pork Sinigang

Ingredients

1/2 kilo pork belly/liempo or ribs, cut into serving pieces

1 medium sized onion, quartered

1 medium sized ripe tomato, diced

1 tamarind boullion or 1tsp tamarind powder mix (Sinigang sa sampaloc mix)

1 bundle kangkong/water spinach, cut into 1-1/2" length

1 bundle sitaw/string beans, cut into 1-1/2" length

1 labanos/white radish, sliced

2 pcs green finger chili/sili pang sigang

2 tsp patis/fish sauce (or salt)

1 liter of water

salt to taste

Procedure

Wash meat carefully.

Put pork in casserole, add water, onion, tomato, fish sauce. Let it boil.

Simmer pork until tender, then add radish, cook for 5minutes, then add string beans.

Simmer for another 5 minutes and add kangkong, finger chili, and tamarind powder.

Add salt to taste.

Turn off heat when kangkong stems are cooked.

tips:

serve this with fish sauce and cut green finger chili from the sinigang

you may use fresh unripe tamarind. wash around 10 pcs of the tamarind and let it boil with the pork.  when the tamarind is soft enough to mash, remove from the broth and mash, pour some of the broth and strain. throw away the shell, seeds and pulp.

when using fish, you may saute garlic, onions, tomato, miso (fermented soy bean paste) and the fish before adding the vegetables. replace the kangkong and sitaw with mustard leaves.

if you're using shrimp or prawns, put the shellfish at the same time with the kangkong leaves since shrimp and prawns cook very fast.  you may also add shrimp boullion cubes for extra flavor.

for crabs, put it in the same time as the radish.  it is advisable to cut the crab in half to cook faster and for the tamarind flavor to penetrate the crab
