This was weird to wake up to…

So apparently someone took a picture inside Comiket in Japan complaining about loli content, a couple people pointed out that the way they were tweeting sounded very similar to how Dobson used to tweet, and the person soon locked their account down after the accusation.

While I understand the accusation, it seems more that the person in question privated their account due to backlash to the intital tweet due to both taking pictures in an area of Comket you’re specifically not to, and(if the person did actually believe it was legitimate CP) that they just took a picture to post online and complain rather than report to the police.

I don’t personally believe it is Dobson for a number of reasons, a big one being “why would he be in Japan?”, but as it is Dobson-related due to the accusations, i figured I’d still cover it.

Dobson Might Be Back(Again)

I’ve gotten a few Asks about this as well as seeing people talking about it on Dobson’s KF thread, but it appears that Dobson may have come back online, and for a few months now. I’m currently reluctant to believe it/talk about it, since not only did we have a fairly recent attempt to make people believe he was back, but also(if this is him) he isn’t actually doing anything that got him his reputation in the first place. The account has just been posting animations and given some advice without attacking anyone or insulting anyone. And the animations do show effort being put into them.

If this account is actually Dobson, then it appears he finally learned to be professional and not cause drama online. And again, if this is actually Dobson, I’m reluctant to just start sharing the new account information and drawing old attention to him if he is actively trying to not cause problems/move on.

And this new “Dobson is back” seems much more legitimate than the last attempt.

TLDR Dobson might actually be back this time, but I won’t be talking about it too directly unless he starts behaving like he did before/fully confirm it’s him, because he does appear to have changed for the better if it is him.

Just wanted to address it.

I think it’s become one of the main Dobson memes now and will probably always pop up whenever either a big discussion about Power Girl is going on or about “people being made at female characters drawn sexily”.

Dobson really kinda shot himself in the foot with his general attitude vs the art he put out.

Was dobson a PDF? there's a tweet going around saying he was one and that he's hiding under a new account

Nah, definitely not that. He was just one of those people who did the whole “this fictional anime character with the body of a 24 year old is actually 16, you’re all creeps!” thing. A lot of people who do that end up being actually PDF’s, so it’s kinda customary to just accuse people like that of being one.

But Dobson never showed any sexual interest in children whatsoever and is absolutely not a pedophile.

If Dobson is truly back, do you think he's gonna keep his mouth shut and not get involved into any media and political discussions? I ask because even today there's a lot of strong discussions regarding stuff like censorship, sexualization, representation and all that regarding modern media.

From what I’ve seen, Dobson(if it is him) is actually keeping his mouth shut and just focusing on animating and discussing animation techniques and such.

So good on him.
