Also have you guys seen the ICJ’s ruling on the genocide case against Israel? I think it is definitely a huge step forward knowing how the ICJ works.
But hearing them say that it is “plausible” that Israel “may be” committing genocide and concluding that only “some of” the evidence presented by South Africa is valid is fucking WILD😭 all that yapping about taking provisional measures but still no ceasefire? Which is the first thing that should happen? But I guess that’s how the ICJ works since experts have said that a ruling on the overall case may take YEARS.
I’ll link an Al Jazeera article talking about the ruling and explaining it thoroughly and doing that very well, so I do definitely recommend reading it :)
The court did not order a ceasefire, but effectively put Israel on notice over the war.
