Sitting against the cracked wall outside the fair, your eyes traveled across the empty street around you...You weren't so young...You shouldn't be feeling scared..But...But your daddy warned you about the men outside the farm, their behaviour and their....what's the word ? Lust ?

A whimper snapped you out of your thoughts and you looked down at the little creature tilting it's head at you. "At least you're here." You gurgled, your hand landing on the dog's head.

"What are you doin out here all on ya' own, little girl ?"

Your heart skipped a beat.

You lifted your head up and bat your eyes at the man towering over you, scoffing. He didn't look so...lustful. But you had to be careful anyways-

" i ain't a little girl." You roared. " And i ain't alone." Your eyes darted down to the whining dog beside you.

The suited up man let out a little giggle..."Well, i'm sorry, sweetheart. I just don't think this is the right place for you." He paused for a second, hesitating. "Are you...waitin' on somebody ?."

A sigh escaped your throat. You were...indeed,waiting for somebody. Your uncle, to be more precise. He said he'll come pick you up at 8....it's almost midnight.

"I am." The words came out louder than you wanted them to be. "My uncle."

"What kind of uncle leaves a little thing like you outside at such a late hour."

You growled. A little thing like me...?

"It ain't none o' ya business, mister. Now i'd like to be left alone, if you mind." You waved him off. But he didn't budge.

"Ain't you a little bratty ?" He commented, causing triumph to travel down your whole body. "How can a little girl like you be so bratty ?"

The man didn't seem too bothered by your behaviour. "It don't seem like it's workin..." you huffed, earning yourself a second chuckle from him.

"Well am i gonna have to break my legs and sit down beside you or do you wanna go to a diner and wait for your uncle there ?"

It really wasn't working at all. And...Your uncle didn't seem like he was coming, either.

Your eyes traveled around the man's features. His slicked back hair, his freshly shaved face, the suit hugging his chest. He didn't seem like the dangerous kind. And frankly, you weren't feeling so safe with your new pet friend either.

Maybe it's best to have him around ?

But your momma taught you better than this.

"Well..."

Your momma did teach you better than this....But she didn't teach you what to do in such cases. You need help...

"The sidewalk's pretty dirty..." A small chuckle shyly left your lips and the man thereupon brought his arm out, offering you his hand.

"Then come with me. We'll go to a coffee shop around town. Just to make sure nothin' bad happens to ya."

You hesitated for a second, before smacking your hand into the man's.

"Can i at least get your name, little girl ?"Your new friend bent down, meeting your eyes. "Mine's Elvis. Elvis presley"

You smiled. "Mine's Y/N. And i ain't a little girl."
