Creep- Idina Nashville 8-15-15

Idina World Tour Ascend Amphitheater Nashville, TN August 15, 2015

Ascend amphitheater just open this month so I really didn't know what to expect.  But it was beautiful & very small and intimate for an amphitheater.  I had 5th row and Kelcie had 7th but by the end of the night we got to sit together there were FOUR empty seats by me!

Intro- still made me cry!

Defying Gravity-  maybe it was just me but she seemed really into it this time.  I've seen her perform it many times.  This time I felt like I was watching Elphaba instead of just Idina. idk

She talked about the humidity & her ponytail.  "A first on the tour. Ponytail!"" It's not just me, it's humid here!" Also "Did you say I look hot? Thanks! I wasn't feeling that hot but now I do!"

Don't Rain on my Parade-  we all know how she breaks after " Hey there Nashville! Here I ammm" well this is where the "woody incident" happened.  She walked to the steps to looked out into the audience and here he comes running down the aisle. "What are you doing?? What's happening here? A selfie, you're just coming up while everybody's here and you think your deserving of the only selfie in the show? Who's got the most balls? You do!" Then he just comes right up the steps "Yeah sure come up on stage." "Are you drunk? You are drunk. Ok that's good. you'll think I'm really good tonight!" This whole time he's so drunk he can't even figure out how to work his phone. "Hurry! what's your name?" Woody. "Woody. ok" *laughs* "We're not going to have a whole conversation! I'm in the middle of a song .Let's do the selfie damnit!" Your about to march your drummer "I'm about to march my drummer. Yes I am. Hurry up! There it is I'm gonna do it. Let me just do it!” I don't think Idina was upset about this whole thing and handled it very well but the security lady (which we'll get to) literally was sitting down during this whole exchange!  She finally finishes the song and when she gets to the big note "This ones for you Woody!"

She turns to the band after laughing "Of course his name is Woody!" and then she turns to the security lady "And ma'am you did a lot to keep woody from coming up to me, didn't you?" "Was woody intimidating? I know you could kick the shit outta him!" This whole time the security lady is like I don't know what happened?? Later on Idina asked her name ,Pam. PAM YOU HAD ONE JOB! but it made for a fun night and Idina refereed back to Pam multiple times during the show

Brave & I Stand

She talked about how beautiful Ascend was and that she was the 13th person to perform there. “It's ok I'm not that superstitious."  she talked about the last time she was in Nashville for the CMT Christmas special & how nice Jennifer Nettles was. "...so nice! Did you see her sing Defying Gravity with me as a duet? That was cool wasn't it? She came up with all those harmonies and everything. She's my new best friend.we love her!"  *they didn't sing Defying Gravity they sang Let it Go as a duet ;) "Where are you going? What's happening?" Another drunk guy was walking back to his seat after getting his cup refilled. And let me just say this guy sat behind me & he was so drunk he stood in the aisle for most of the concert and just swayed "Sit down!! It's distracting!! What are they? It's a lot of alcohol they sell. Everybody's just just totally bombed!" "I'm like bombed on electrolytes." Fan: YOU'RE MY ROLE MODEL "Oh god! Some days that's a good thing. Some days I might let you down. Thank you." the audience screams something else "Shush!!" River

After the song she said "Is that a Fudrucker's sign? What does that say?" No Pickers! "Who?" PICKERS "What is that?" VODKA "Vodka? OH Pickers! I can't see it and I kept seeing Fudruckers and was like I  feel like a hamburger. Right in the middle of my song. I was like stop thinking about hamburgers! Oh I see! Nope, totally different thing. Got it!"

Still I can't Be Still & Creep- Idina was on point in Nashville not that she's not always great but these 2 songs and a couple others this night, she just had so much passion. She was also in a good mood and chatty which always makes for a good show :)

Take me or leave me- I know I'm forgetting some of this.  This is where she asked security lady's name "What was your name again? Pam. Pam's here so she's going to hold it down if anyone gets out of control" Security was very lax & the crowd was a bit rowdy so I was actually scared for her to go out but 2 security guards ended up following her around.   "Pam do you want to sing it? NO ok" a little girl ran up to her at one point "Do you know this song? it might not be appropriate." No I just wanted to meet you "Oh well I've got something else for you later. Remind me, Gabby" ;) She got a guy to sing with her he was good! and then a girl (Hilary I think?)  got to go on stage with her.She was good too and I can't remember the name of the guy that got to go up. Idina just let them go & it was entertaining. At the end she said something like" I just stopped singing I think I was on the wrong key" LOL Let's just say there were a lot of keys going on. I ran into Hilary at the end of the night and made sure to tell her what a good job she did.

Always Starting Over-always makes me cry & I always go back in time to when I was watching her for the first time in If/Then. I never want to forget that moment.

For Good- I just realized I left this out of my Atlanta review but she did sing it there. Anyway I was a mess already from ASO & I cried again during this one. I think it was because I don't know when my next concert will be lol I always try to soak it all in, in case i don't get to see her again #emotional

No Day But Today- During her intro "....we have to be present and appreciate the moment. I just want you to know that even though I thought that was Fudrucker's I am present"

Let it go- Nashville's audience did much better than Atlanta's "I need my little girl. what was her name again? Gabby. Gabby,it's time now! Gabby come on up here."" ....Could I have Pam....make sure they don't fall  off (of the stairs)" Adorable and she had the little ones take it up an octave

Tomorrow

After it was all over I realized she didn't do Child All in all I think this was a better concert than Atlanta. Until next time...
