Happy STS! Which OC(s) has the strangest quirk? Who stares at them in confusion/makes comments, and who encourages said quirk?
Oh, quirks. I always find these so hard to quantify, for a few reasons.
1. Everyone is strange if you’re removed enough from their culture or their circumstances. You can be confused by somebody’s anything. How do I know what’s strangest? What you consider strange might not be what I do.
2. I’m an over thinker.
3. The majority of the SOLE Gang’s “quirks” (Beth’s habit of putting all responsibility on her own shoulders, Christian’s long sleeves, etc) are actually responses to Agau’s abuse and trauma she put them through.
And that feels kind of like a betrayal to their character to just classify those as merely quirks.
(Regardless, Finnigan encourages all of them to be themselves no matter the quirks, as long as they’re not hurting anyone. And they try to be as understanding with each other as they can, though some fundamental differences in view cause some conflict)
4. How deep do I go? Do you want something about mannerisms, like Olu’s never using the concept of luck in their dialogue, because they believe that everything is planned?
(And Mal’s respectful disagreement of that idea, while Nora, with her human perspective, can’t accept that?)
Or something more surface level, like Ash hating her full name Ashlyn, and everyone around her respecting her chosen name easily?
5. This was not the intent of this ask and I realize that, but oh well, at least you got an idea of the quirks across all my characters.
6. I think I’ve typed “quirk” so many times it doesn’t seem like a word anymore.
