hi heres thoughts i had that went through my mind in like 5 minutes.

G' tells Adrian that he usually favors people that 'survive against all odds' because they 'remind him of himself'. so that means he has a bias when it comes to choosing potential pawns for his plans. but, he stills takes their other attributes into consideration

Adrian lived despite being in a copter crash that killed everyone else and he was in multiple literal seconds away from death situations that he survived. however, there were moments that he had no way of getting out of dangers without G's help, such as the room of rising acid and the copter that exploded upon take off. plus, he speaks, making him a risk to have since he might spill the beans

Gordon killed the alien equivalent of a deity. he was more than qualified for being used in any threatening situation, but he still showed that he needed a bit of a helping hand every now and then, mainly to go to the next area. but since he literally killed an alien overlord pretty much nearly on his own, and he cant speak, that made him REALLY valuable

so although G' took them in because of their ability to live through hell, they still had some cons to them that lessened their value, one having more cons than the other, and thus being left somewhere for safe keeping, until needed

so i just wanna know what baby Alyx went through for G' to find her and be like "damn bro i NEED this kid, you dont understand"

I saw your wondering on why G wanted Alyx so much, and while I don’t have a theory on that, I did want to offer a correction on one thing: if I remember correctly, Adrian is kept in stasis not because he’s less useful than Gordon but because he can speak. I think G says something about this, Adrian being detained so he couldnt “give in to the human temptation of telling all” or something. Which makes you wonder, what did Adrian see that was so damning that G had to keep him in a void forever?

ah, i must've worded it badly in the post. i do agree with the theory and think its pretty implied to be true that G' kept Adrian in stasis because he could speak.

as for why he decided that aspect of him was going to be risky and therefore led to the decision of putting him stasis, i believe the simple answer is that Adrian has already seen questionable things, that being the G-Man himself. G-Man couldve been a little bit smarter with hiding himself from Adrian, but in the situations of where Adrian NEEDED a helping hand from somebody because he had no way of doing it himself, such as the acid room and the exploding copter, he already knew something was up with G' and that he was an odd, obvious more than human guy. he did disappear from the room where Adrian saw him opening the door for him to escape the acid room from.

so basically G's reason was "i made a bit of fuck ups here and there with you so sorry bud but i gotta put you in a coma for a bit."
