Chiaroscuro [Hubert & Yuri]
Isola Event: Shore. Location: Foss
Yuri had been brushing grains of sand off his clothes for several minutes, and by the persistent rough granules still under his fingertips and palms as he continued to violently attack the sand sticking to his dark uniform, he could be at it all night if he so desired.
“A beach,” he muttered, tossing his head and giving up with a few brisk strokes of his palms together. He put his hands on his hips and took stock of his surroundings. On one side, tropical waves and warm sands stretching down a coast, presumably all the way around the island. To the other a leafy canopy around the skirts of a volcano so large not even the treeline or his distance from it could hide the peak. “A beach with some spice,” he amended.
One moment, he was being dragged somewhere new, weaponry taken from him and replaced by a foreign, handheld device, and it seemed just a minute later as he took in a city with structures and technology he had no words for he was being whisked away again via some sort of teleportation.
This place seemed, at the moment, a little more manageable than the city. He reread the message on his cellphone, realizing he had inadvertently volunteered to explore for his new... captors? Associates? Hm. He stuck it in his pocket and made for the jungle, sighing as the shade welcomed him. Questions swirled in his mind as he walked, taking care to be as quiet as someone could be while casually walking through a forest floor.
One question was answered shortly. Did anyone he know get brought here too?
Yes. On a footpath near him, likely with the same idea as him.
He wasn’t quite the same as Yuri remembered. Older, perhaps. Still, the hair that covered an eye, albeit styled in a more mature cut, was so distinctive that Yuri would know the silhouette anywhere. Even with his abilities and weapons, none of which he had, Yuri would take care not to step on the wrong side of Adrestia’s Imperial shadow- Hubert von Vestra.
“Well well,” said Yuri, a light drawl coloring his tone as he stepped in plain sight for Hubert. This was not someone to sneak up on if he valued his health. He spoke with his palms open, to gesture and also to show he was unarmed “It seems I found the shadiest company possible, aside from myself, in the shade itself.” If he wasn’t going to talk in circles, he would be blunt instead. “You look different, though. Does the sunshine disagree with both of us so badly, or is there something else going on?” He looked back and forth, expecting to see Edelgard near. “Did Her Highness send you scouting? Wouldn't have thought of you two as the types to split up in a strange place.”
