                                  [ If ever there were a time for an asprin--.

       A groan leaves Jack's lips as they part, blinking up at the night sky through the cluster of tree branches above him. He waits a few seconds before shifting an arm and propping himself up on his elbow, the other hand rising to rub at the back of his head where it shakes a few dry leaves free from his mess of frosted locks. No bump, but it definitely hurts.

       Sitting up straight now the winter spirit turns his upper torso just enough to get a look around, first one way then the other, before he reaches out to--.

                                                                        It's not there.                                                              Where is it?

       Mild panic erupts in the sprite's chest and suddenly he's on his knees, brushing away at the leaf-covered ground in hopes of unveiling the missing object, but there's no sign of it. Jack's breathing picks up as he jumps to his feet.
