Fixing @ar_institute_fr 's #AMSNeve #DMX1580S not booting up at all 😥(cont') . First pic shows this section of the board as I discovered it: the replacement battery is not if the correct power value, and some of the original components next to it still clearly present corroded solder joints from the old battery leakage... Not to mention that the - leg of the replaced battery has been somewhat badly soldered: the lower part of the photo shows that the pad has not been completely cleared off of corrosion prior to soldering. That's why the solder joint doesn't cover the entire pad as well as its shape looks more like a "ball" instead of a small "volcano", leading to fragile mechanical and electrical links 👎 . Second pic shows the same section of the Processor Board after replacement of the above mentioned components: battery is now the correct, 150 mA/h type, nearby resistors, transistors and capacitor are new (as well as their solder joints), and the three pads of the battery have been completely cleaned before being soldered so that their joints are... well, approaching perfection, aren't they? ☺️☺️☺️ . All of this work now ensures that the reset circuitry works fine at each start-up (previously, the CPU would restart itself randomly, or even show a blinking start-up screen, being permanently reset/started/reset/ etc.). . NB: yeah, in the two previous posts about this unit I wrote that it didn't start-up at all.
