. . Penultimate installment in the last "Another dead #AMSNeve #RMX16 arrived at the workshop" series 😉 . Reservoir caps on the SMPS board replaced with the correct type and value 👌 (upper left corner pic) Then I tested the audio and found out that no sound was either input or output... because +15V supply rail was topping at +12V: found a dead op-amp in its regulation circuitry, so it's solved, too. . Last but not least, front panel had some mechanical issues: red display filter had taken off, pots were loose, as were some of the screws that hold the Panel PCB in place, and the board itself had not been reinstalled properly (some push-button switches sticked into place when pushed)... all solved! 😊👌☺️ . ...and while I was at it, front panel was thoroughly cleaned, of course! . . Another dead #AMS #RMX16 just arrived at the workshop . On power up, screen stays blank and all front panel LEDs stay lit: typical CPU boot-up issue 😔 . After removing the upper lid, a close inspection of the Processor board reveals what might probably be the cause of the fault: battery was replaced, for sure, but not up to my repair standards... for sure, too! 👎 .
