. . Penultimate installment in the last "Another dead #AMSNeve #RMX16 arrived at the workshop" series 😉 . Reservoir caps on the SMPS board replaced with the correct type and value 👌 (upper left corner pic) Then I tested the audio and found out that no sound was either input or output... because +15V supply rail was topping at +12V: found a dead op-amp in its regulation circuitry, so it's solved, too. . Last but not least, front panel had some mechanical issues: red display filter had taken off, pots were loose, as were some of the screws that hold the Panel PCB in place, and the board itself had not been reinstalled properly (some push-button switches sticked into place when pushed)... all solved! 😊👌☺️ . ...and while I was at it, front panel was thoroughly cleaned, of course! Now that the Reset/Memory Protect circuitry has been completely replaced, especially this dead C3V9 Zener diode (on the center picture), this electronic section finally functions as expected... . ...and then can the CPU boot up correctly, at last!!! 😊😊😊👌👌👌👍👍👍 . Reset and memory sections of the CPU board are now clean and free of most of the corrosion from the old battery leakage 👌😊 . . . Another dead #AMS #RMX16 just arrived at the workshop . On power up, screen stays blank and all front panel LEDs stay lit: typical CPU boot-up issue 😔 . After removing the upper lid, a close inspection of the Processor board reveals what might probably be the cause of the fault: battery was replaced, for sure, but not up to my repair standards... for sure, too! 👎 . . . New crystal oscillator with the correct frequency of 6.144 MHz and the display do not flicker anymore 👍😉 .
