A film I rewatched recently is Advantageous 2015
It’s an indie sci-fi with a slow pace that doesn’t offer any particular moral or judgment on the woman’s choices but tries its best to make you think about how you’d balance the options in her situation. It’s a tad long, especially as it unfolds in the first half and could have done with some elaboration on the long term fallout. It’s a soulful melancholy little piece on the drag, code switching and emotional coddling women must perform even though it sets the wrong example for their daughters *precisely* because they want their daughters to have a chance.
