She and Dr. Saltzman had a… contentious relationship at best. Hope would never forget how he opened his school to her, but neither would she forget how his school was littered with references to her father as “The Great Evil”, and spoke about him like one of the dictators in human history. A part of her understood why, considering the personal tragedies that Klaus has caused to Alaric himself, but that was something that took her several years and many tearful nights to understand. At nine years old, and abandoned by her father, the only thing she had left were the books in the library. Ones that did nothing to erase the memory of watching her father rip out innocent hearts, and only cemented it further in her brain.
Still, for all of his faults, the man had been one of the few constants in her life, and seeing him sloppily dozing on his office desk with an empty bottle of bourbon dangling from his fingers made her sigh. With a wave of her fingers, she made the bottle vanish before it could slip out of his grasp and cause an even bigger mess. In the past, Hope found it was easier to let him sleep it off in his office, but the Mayor had called and quite rudely requested Alaric’s presence because of another “animal attack”.
“Dr. Saltzman. You need to get up. Please don’t make me pour ice water on your head again.”
