Fictive vent, heads up for some murder talk

This is just a personal thing, I'm not judging anyone who does this, but why do so many people in the fandom seem to think I killed a bunch of people? Cause canonically that's not what happened. It's very clear that I got the same choice as the s53 group, and I did what Maki and Kiibo were going to do. I sacrificed myself to save my friends, and eventually I died for them. I'm not gonna say I wasn't violent, but I never killed anyone.

Again, do whatever you want with the fictional character, that's your prerogative. It just gets under my skin when I see it. I think it's because I do genuinely have insecurities about the amount of violence I feel okay with committing (not in this life, our body couldn't even if I wanted to). I also have trauma from getting murdered, so that doesn't help.

So just to be clear: in terms of my exomemories, I never killed anyone

latest from Fishing Adventures:

I've spent, like, the past week trying to catch Aphotic Pirarucu. It's supposed to have a 5% bite rate... I had over 100 mooch attempts before I even saw my first bite, and then finally caught it today!

It now lives on the wall of Ardwin's house forever. Behold: the Pirarucu Wall of Shame.

Part of the reason that this fish was irritating me so much was not just that it wasn't supposed to be so hard to catch - it's also because it happens to perfectly overlap with the window for Madam Butterfly, and overlap to the point of uselessness with almost all windows for Armor Fish.

Both of these fish are well known to be very obnoxious to catch.

...Apparently they took pity on me after the Pirarucu Debacle because I just caught both of them.

...also it's fortunate that we don't have neighbors in the apartment next to ours right now because when I got the Armor Fish bite (after catching Madam Butterfly) I accidentally yelled "NO FUCKING WAYYYYYY" really loud 😅

cephaloparty exchange fic

I have discovered the most strange and marvelous of creatures! Or should I say that it has discovered me?

As I write this entry by lamplight before retiring, the sound of rain falls quietly upon the thatched roof of my little bamboo shack, and the little vine creature sits sweetly in my lap, hugging my legs and around my middle and crooning sleepy sounds.

It is a fascinating thing, and I cannot wait to discover more about its habits!

The tentacle-focused exchange is finally off anon, and I can share my fics! I am absurdly proud of this one. I had way too much fun with the narrative voice of this fic, writing an epistolary story from the log of an old-timey jungle explorer.

This fic fulfills my giftee’s requests for adorable tentacle monster, tentacle vines, falling in love with the tentacle monster, and enthusiastic consentacles. I also threw in a dash of homoerotic tension between jungle explorer and his local guide, because it’s delicious.
