Botw fanbase when it released was just a different beast, I was in the trenches as a fan of Zelda and Revali
Revali: *pompously* When I was moving, I was going to give each of you a gift, but I want you to have them anyway! *hands presents to Zelda, Link and Mipha* Mipha: Aw, Revali, how sweet! Link: *signs* You shouldn't have! :D Zelda: *opening her package* Aw, Revali, this is so lovely ... and so familiar! *pulls out a fluffy, blue cape* This is mine! I thought the cleaner lost it! Revali: I told you the cleaner lost it! I took it, I needed something to go with my blue hair tie. Link, frowning: *signs* This is my blue hair tie! Revali: I know! It goes great with- Mipha: My pearls.😑 Revali: ... Well, enjoy and be healthy! *flies off* Link: ... *signs* I wonder, if he has seen my Champion's tunic.🤨 Mipha: You know, I haven't been able to find my silver tiara.😒 Zelda: Come on, I think it's time to search his roost again.😑
Revali, on the verge of tears: I'm Master Revali ... I'm amazing ... boys and girls find me desirable ... and my life is over! *sobs* Mipha: ... *whispering to Urbosa* By Lord Jabu-Jabu, when the mask falls off, it really makes a thud!

Something I'd like to mention about the Zelda BOTW comic I'm working on is that the characters will be representatives of some believers/followers of God and Jesus, for example: Revali and Zelda
Revali represents the type of believer/follower who believes in God and Jesus, has done so since childhood, but for various reasons began to drift away and doesn't know how to return. He doesn't deny them, but he doesn't know how to return to them and doesn't feel worthy to do so. He tries to fill that void with worldly things, but they don't make him feel complete because what he lacks isn't something of this world, but his Creator.
Zelda represents the type of believer who believes in God and Jesus, knows His Word, and attends events and ceremonies related to them, but doesn't feel heard because she has been doing what religion says, following what others have told her. She represents those who have been experiencing religion instead of a relationship with God and Jesus.
The other characters (mine, and those already seen in the game) also represent different types of believers/followers of God and Jesus, which will be revealed as I progress with the comic and/or make separate drawings of them explaining their representation.
—๑ If this is the first time you've seen one of my posts and you're wondering why I mention God or something related to Him, you can see my pinned post and you'll understand the reason. Feel free to ask anything you want ( ´ ▽ ` ) (respectfully)

I remember the first time I played Breath of the Wild...
Honestly, I thought Revali, Mipha, Daruk, and Urbosa were bosses I would have to fight until I reached Rito Village and found out that Revali was an ally.
Like... what do you mean Revali is actually this sassy bird with a god complex who looks handsome.
It's just so... asinine.
