It was a little strange not having to sneak around for once.
You were so used to secrecy that simply.. walking in plain sight without worrying about who saw you felt abnormal. You almost wanted to lift onto the balls of your feet to quiet your footsteps, to glance around and check to see if the coast was clear, and to dart across the hall rather than stroll. But you had permission this time. Antonio was a patron of the Midnight Mansion, and a respectable one at that.
You were just having trouble wrapping your head around it. Your instincts never really did listen to logic.
Punching the co-ordinates in, you slipped your handheld into your pocket and stepped onto the transportalizer. As it whirred to life, you took a few breaths. It didn't help. Your stomach was still doing backflips as the device flashed and dropped you in Antonio's hive. It was still doing them when you stepped off and called out his name, looking around for the human. You just ignored it.
This was going to be fun. You'd focus on the excitement bubbling up instead.
