Social Media Goals

I’m back with another update from my social media class.

This week we learned about social media goals on each of their platforms. Essentially their main goal is to improve brand reputation and to increase traffic on their platforms. This is their main goal because their social media platform is not a place for them to really be pushy and sell their products. Rather they can use their platform to further give information on their products, which will decrease buyers remorse. This can also lead to introducing their products to new customers who found them through social media. How do you feel about advertisements on social media? Do you find them informational, annoying or ...?

What I also found interesting about this chapter was that the number of followers you have will be the actual amount of people you reach. Not all your followers use social media every day and not all your followers are able to see your post because it gets lost with all the older post. Because of this companies need to know when it is the best time for them to post and when they get the most likes and much more. Social media is good for several companies but they do need to put time into it. I have seen a company’s Instagram and they only post when they have a new product coming out. This is not a great thing for them to do because they are solely using their Instagram to promote their items instead of trying to build a relationship with their followers. I personally hate when companies do that because it makes me feel like they are only using me. How do you feel when companies do that? Do you care at all?
