Experiment- Moire Effect
One of my first attempts at printing and making my own Moire Effect using a piece of acetate and a basic corridor movement.
Research- How to make your own Moire Effect
I wanted to start experimenting with creating my own Moire Effects but I couldn’t quite master it but this video finally explained and clarified a few items of which I was getting wrong.
Research- Moiré effect in action
Some further research into how this type of Moire effect works using 6:1 ratio line thickness.
Research- New York in Pyjamarama
One of my lecturers told me to look at a book called Pyjamarama. It manipulates images using the Moire Effect and is really intriguing.
Research- The Moiré effect
Moiré effect is a visual perception that occurs when viewing a set of lines or dots that is superimposed on another set of lines or dots, where the sets differ in relative size, angle, or spacing. The moiré effect can be seen when looking through ordinary window screens at another screen or background.
Research- Advanced 3D Zoetrope
Even if you don’t love Toy Story you will still be amazed by the complexity and brilliance of this 3D Zoetrope!!! Displayed in Disney land California this is one of the most detailed Zoetropes I have come across during my research. But obviously I am again reminded that this is supposed to be a wall mural not a 3D piece!
Research- How to make a 3D Zoetrope
I conducted further research into how zoetropes not to aid me in constructing my own but for the purpose of understanding how you can manipulate movements and lighting to create moving image.
