♦: Our muses wrap presents together.
Hyeyeon’s not sure how she ended upwrapping presents with Jung Taekwoon, but here she is sitting next to aglistening, decorated Christmas tree and surrounded by rolls of wrapping paperand ribbons and gift tags.
There’s something very silly aboutsitting next to a grown, solidly-built man wearing a reindeer headband and afake white beard, and while normally she would point and laugh cutely, there’ssomething intimidating about trying to act adorable in front of someone assilent as him. Her lips press together, and she does her best not to look inhis direction whenever she reaches out to grab something.
Her face is obviously pointed awaywhen she slowly, carefully reaches over for a roll of red ribbon.
She flinches suddenly, sending aflurry of snowflake-patterned paper into the air when the ribbon slides intoher outstretched, grabbing hands. Hyeyeon melts into a nervous, grateful smile.“Ah, thank you.” Her gaze doesn’t linger on him for long, and she resumeslooking away from him as she measures out the ribbon and cuts it.
Her name is called, and she sits upstraighter. “Yes? Oh.” She laughs, something warm and natural permeating herexpressions and gestures, and this time she manages to look at him directly. “It’snot that hard, actually. You just have to be careful and tedious when you wrappresents.” Hyeyeon looks down at the present in her lap. “I do this a lot eachyear, actually—because people keep telling me I’m so good at it.” She tries notto look too smug when she sways side-to-side, eventually letting her body stayleaning toward the other. “I think you do a nice job too! The blue ribbon goeswell with the pattern you picked.”
