What Hakyeon said was true, Leeteuk nodding his head in agreement. “It is a beautiful day. That’s partly why I couldn’t resist having a little fun.” He shifted his wings, let then right, extending them to their full length and spreading the long feathers at the very ends so that the sunlight filtered through them casting shadows on the ground. “Do you have any plans for today?” he asked, shoving his cold hands into the pocket of his grey hoodie. “If you don’t let’s have a ramen picnic while it’s still warm enough to do so. Ramen always tastes the best if eaten outside in good company.

“i want to, shush.” hakyeon hums happily, taking a few moments after he’s finished fixing jungsoo’s hair to just stroke his fingers through it, gently brushing out any tangles. “there we are. good as new.” he says, satisfied with his work before he lets his gaze drop slightly to jungsoo’s eyes instead, his eyes softening as he spoke.

“i can’t deal with heights, i don’t think i could even if i could keep myself from falling if i had wings like you,” he muses, with a quick glance towards the blue sky, thankful that today was much better than the past few. “and oh! i was not aware there was another here with wings like you.”

perhaps he only has eyes for one winged person.

his thoughts disappear as jungsoo shifted his wings, spreading them as far as they could. he was going to say something about how awful it was to think hakyeon sighs softly as he stares, the older’s wings shielding him from the sunlight that was shining in his eyes, and giving him a beautiful view of them. they were so pretty, truly. he spends so much time gawking at them that he only hears the end of leeteuk’s words, catching his request for a picnic that had hakyeon laughing quietly. “no, i don’t have any plans, hyung. that sounds lovely, although how do you know that? how often do you eat ramen outside with other people, teukkie?” he teases, eyes slowly traveling back to meet jungsoo’s gaze.

“Hey, my precious cutie poo!” she sings as her features scrunch up in a nauseatingly cute smile, “the salt of the Earth, light of my life, future father of my children and provider of the best drug that I’ve ever tasted since sliced bread—”

Her arms fold and rest on the top of the cashier machine as she makes loud kissy faces at him.

“Can I pretty please get a free mocha with whipped cream today? Extra-large! I am, after all, the love of your life,” she pleads, and her lips pucker into a pout as her eyelids flutter, “just for your baby boo!”

And then her finger slides from underneath her to poke his nose, “please, Hakyeonnie… just today…”

hakyeon’s day starts out wonderfully. the morning usually brings grumpy and angry customers in a rush but as today wasn’t a week day, the people who strolled in only wanted to enjoy their morning coffee or whatever concoction they decided to ask for. really, people treated coffee like alcohol sometimes, asking for wild fixtures that would do more harm than good to their bodies. oh, how he loved this job though.

“thank you, have a wonderful day!” he chirps to his last customer before sighing in relief. things were starting to slow down after the initial morning rush, and it gives hakyeon time to wipe down his station. after all, he is the only one on the morning shift because he’s the only one willing to take it as he’s a morning person.

his quick breaks takes a turn when a very, very familiar voice practically pierces his ears. not in a bad way, though jennie is just loud.

“hello, little one,” hakyeon turns to the counter, leaning on it as well as he stares down at her with an amused little grin, laughing softly. “oh, stop it-- you’re going to scare off my customers if they think i’m with someone seven years younger than me and that i’m a drug dealer!” he can’t stop laughing at her antics, though, reaching out to pinch her nose with his left hand.

“you can’t have a free one, because that comes off of my paycheck though perhaps i can give a little discount to one of my most frequent customers...” he hums thoughtfully, letting go of her nose after a moment and swats her hand away gently, then turning to his machine, brushing off her nicknames playfully, a bright smile on his face.

as he prepares her overly large drink -- seriously, how does a girl so small drink all of this? -- hakyeon glances at her with a fond smile, as if he is looking at his own child. “where have you been lately? it’s been a little while, jennie, you make me worry when you don’t check up with me frequently.” hakyeon has no idea what jennie does in her free time, knowing very little about her in general to be honest, but if she’s like this with everyone, he definitely worries about the trouble she most likely gets into.

hakyeon does his best to be patient as he waits for jonghyun, he really does. but it’s hard not to let out a few frustrated sighs as he rolls over on his bed, already beginning to ruin how nicely he had made it that morning. all of his moving and squirming kept him warm, thankful for it since he was wearing practically nothing.

by the time jonghyun arrives, he’s hugging his pillow, face shoved into it until he hears the other’s presence. lifting his head, he looks over his shoulder at him with a grin, trying to not look too excited. again, it was hard not to be. this was so sudden and hakyeon doesn’t know what’s going to happen but that’s the fun in it. he bends a leg at the knee, lifting his foot in the air with his thigh still resting on the bed, humming quietly.

“full outfit? this is it. anything more would be far too stuffy, and we don’t want that. besides, don’t i look a lot better like this?” he asks coyly as he reaches back to tug at the hem of the underwear, giving just a little peek, before letting go, the elastic snapping back onto his skin. slowly moving to get up off of the bed to stand in front of jonghyun, a blush arises on his cheeks at the difference in their state of dress, but he’s sure jonghyun doesn’t mind. the both of them have very nice bodies, and hakyeon is anxious to get jonghyun in just his underwear as well. well... if that’s the direction they are heading, anyways. everything jonghyun is currently wearing is far too baggy, and covers all of his pretty physique that hakyeon knows he has, unfortunately.

“hm... a little show can be arranged.” he muses, gently reaching out to guide jonghyun to sit on the edge of the bed. he does a little twirl to step away, just as he was asked, giving jonghyun a nice view of his backside where he stands a few feet away. bending over only slightly, hakyeon gives his hips a little shake, the underwear stretching over the curve of his ass nicely, showing it off for jonghyun. he stares over his shoulder with an almost shy grin before chuckling quietly. “oh god-- this is so strange without music. i hope that was good enough for the moment, i’m too embarrassed to shake my ass in front of you forever. you got your little show.” he gave a slight shudder of embarrassment before turning back around to stand in front of jonghyun, gesturing to his lap.

“H-hakyeon-ssi!” Jungsoo’s face, already rosy from being whipped by the wind, but now turned an even brighter red the tips of his ears burning from the compliments. He was really not used to people fawning over him. “Thank you,” he said softly, flexing his wings slightly, suddenly very aware of the two white feathered blobs attached to his back. “And yes, I do enjoy flying. A lot. It’s just… difficult to get out to do so; not a lot of winged men in these parts,” he jokes with a shake of his head, patting his sandy hair into something more presentable.

“What brings you outside? Morning exercise perhaps?”

hakyeon smiles at his friend, a few soft laughs escaping him at how precious embarrassed jungsoo looks, cheeks tinted red. “you’re welcome, hyung.” he hums and reaches forward to help the older fix his hair, meticulously playing with the strands until he was satisfied, smiling brightly.

“flying looks very fun, i would be surprised if you didn’t enjoy it,” he comments as he pulls away quickly, sweeping his fingers through his bangs as he listens to jungsoo with another little giggle. “oh, who cares! if you want to fly, then fly! i can’t imagine keeping your wings tucked for a long time feels very good.”

“though, i can confidently say you’re the most enjoyable winged man to be around, teukkie. don’t feel like you can’t do as you wish just because you are the only one.” he says, not wanting jungsoo to coop himself up somewhere and not spread his gorgeous wings.

“just some fresh air before. i don’t like to stay in my room for very long, it makes me feel... cramped. there’s plenty of room it’s just-- nicer to be outside. especially on such a nice day. it’s not that cold, like it has been the past few days!” he exclaims, quickly changing the subject as he looks up towards the clear sky with a new grin on his lips.

they’re walking hand in hand one early morning, bundled up in big, puffy coats and scarves to keep warm. a light snow creates a thin layer on the ground they walk on, while hakyeon babbles to jungsoo about the dream he had last night (it was about the two of them going to the beach, which was silly because it was far too cold to do so now). towards the end of his story he gasps as he spots something in the distance, pointing it out.

“oh look! they put christmas lights up around the foundation! that’s so cute, look at that one! it’s shaped like a mistletoe!” he exclaims happily, gently tugging jungsoo along with him to stand under it, giggling quietly. “you know what that means, don’t you? we have to kiss now, teukkie.” he teases and squeezes jungsoo’s hand where their fingers are still intertwined, watching the blush rise on the older’s cheeks. it’s incredibly cute, and so easy to make him embarrassed. hakyeon adores jungsoo, really.

“i’m kidding, i’m kidding, don’t get too flustered! it’s a silly tradition anyways, i’m not going to pressu--” hakyeon makes a noise of surprise as he’s kissed, jungsoo leaning up to press his lips to the taller’s. hakyeon whimpers into the kiss, free hand coming up to press gingerly against jungsoo’s cheek, caressing it and stroking his thumb over his cheekbone as they part after a few moments. he stares at the other male fondly, a soft smile on his lips and a light blush on his own cheeks now as well.

“Do we really have to leave cookies for Santa?”

hakyeon stares at sanghyuk like he just stabbed hakyeon, a dramatic gasp escaping his lips at the question. “hyukkie! of course we do! santa is going to come and leave you lots of gifts, aren’t you excited?” he teases playfully, reaching up to pinch both of sanghyuk’s cheeks and wiggle them slightly. obviously, santa wasn’t real but he truly enjoyed to baby sanghyuk. “let me go get a glass of milk to set out as well, because santa’s cookies wouldn’t be complete without one!” hakyeon disappears into the kitchen for a minute, and when he returns…

“han sanghyuk!” he shrieks at the sight of sanghyuk eating the cookies he just briefed him about being for santa. not for sanghyuk. in a flash he’s rushing over and smacking the younger’s hand with a glare and a whine, making him drop the cookie he was holding. “you already ate our gingerbread house made out of glue, now the cookies!? santa isn’t going to bring you presents if you keep this up, i swear.” hakyeon nags at his friend-slash-child, gently hitting his neck and shoulders before wagging a finger at him in punishment.

though… the next morning, sure enough there were presents for sanghyuk, the tags labeled with “from santa, to sanghyuk” in hakyeon’s handwriting.

hakyeon often likes observing other potentials at the foundation use their abilities or train. he’s been at the foundation since it began, and even if he doesn’t know everyone by name or has never even talked to them before, he has seen people grow and it’s nice. hakyeon’s own growth has been stunted for a while now, and he couldn’t figure out how to progress. so he occupies his free time watching others instead.

right now, he was watching another potential with wings fly overheard, head tilted back to watch the other and knees pressed to his chest with his arms resting on top of them, mesmerized. it was always so interesting to him, to see what abilities or skills those around him had. he never thought anyone had a better ability than someone else, finding everyone he’s observed to have their own unique, individuality.

“oh!” hakyeon perks up when the male he was watching starts his descent down to land, and the illusionist stands and jogs over to him with a smile. “oh my goodness, you look really good up there! that looks very fun and refreshing, to fly like that. i assume you enjoy it a lot too, you were up there for a little while-- oh wow, your wings are gorgeous!” he exclaims, clasping his hands together as he smiles brightly, his words absolutely genuine and interested. he doesn’t move to touch him, wouldn’t dare do so without permission since he’s a stranger but oh how he does want to touch them. they look very soft.

There was fear in the stranger’s face, but no matter. He was in pain; he was furious.

And he roared as the insects pulled his body forward to straddle Hakyeon and claw his face.

hakyeon barely has time to even glance at the other male, crying out in fear of that feral yell as he does his best to move out of the way. it isn’t enough, his side clipped as sanghyuk barrels into him, sending them both to the floor. he thrusts his hands out towards the flickering lights, drawing their energy but it’s not enough, it’s too slow and the man-- the possessed boy is on top of him, scratching at his face. hakyeon draws his arms close to cover his face, palms open to once again gather light into them until he has enough to cause a small blast, right in sanghyuk’s face.

bugs scatter and flee the pure light energy if they weren’t already killed by it, expelled from sanghyuk before returning as soon as the light fades.

he’s too panicked, catching himself in the blast too, blinded by his own light and he hurries to scramble away from the stranger. pushing himself to his feet, he stumbles with a sob, unable to tell where he’s going but he needs to get out. barely conscious for twenty minutes and there’s already someone trying to kill him. he would laugh if he wasn’t so terrified. the skin on his arms is mottled, torn and bleeding, managing to take the most of the damage but there’s also a few tears on his face. he can feel it. shit.

“s-stay back! don’t come any closer, i will blast you again!” he calls out, voice clearly thick with fear as he gathers energy in his palms again, holding his hands out and turning this way and that, relying on his hearing since he was still temporary blinded.

“i should be telling you that! we’ve been sharing these cookies and i’m pretty sure you’ve eaten atleast one more than i have. besides, santa can share his cookies. maybe all i want for christmas are these cookies,” he huffs, jabbing a cookie in jaehyun’s direction before staring directly at him as he eats the rest of it, munching happily and wiggling slightly.

hakyeon doesn’t entirely understand why jonghyun was seemingly going along with everything, based on his replies. they were close, though not extremely close, but maybe that’s what is making this so easy. he is certainly not complaining, though. the illusionist has seen jonghyun at the gym, and whereas hakyeon is gifted with a nice ass ( a very nice one at that ), jonghyun is gifted with a gorgeous upper body. and probably a just as nice lower body, but perhaps he’ll find out.

he chuckles to himself as he rolls out of bed, moving around the room to tidy it up. it was already perfectly fine, well organized with sticky notes littered around with scribblings that hakyeon made sure only he could decipher. they’re completely random little things, most of them just reminders for himself on what he’s done to prevent memory loss after a mishap with his illusions. hakyeon messes with his stationery at his desk, a little hobby of his, dropping his pens into their respective holders and clearing the desk of his papers and planner, schedules for the coming weeks at work. there’s a lot of little cute things to be found on his desk, but he tucks them all away before returning to his phone where he left it on the bed, checking his new messages with a huff, puffing his cheeks out and furrowing his brow.

hakyeon was... partially joking when he said he’d go to jonghyun. he knows jonghyun has a roommate but he hasn’t met him before, which would probably ( definitely ) lead to a bad, embarrassing situation. but hakyeon has no roommate, making his life much easier but much more boring and lonely all at the same time. he’s better off by himself though.

the tanned male rolls onto his side, phone left on the pillow, as he continues to pick at his underwear, tracing the little designs along the side of his hip with the tip of his finger. he doesn’t get to do that for very long before the next reply comes, his ringtone a quiet, fake scream that he made himself, a bit of a pun on jonghyun but it came out as more of a whine than anything. scooping up his phone in his hands, he swipes the screen to unlock it, snickering at the emoji.

hakyeon fiddles with the waistband of his underwear. they are in fact mistletoe underwear, as hakyeon absolutely adores the holiday season, and he couldn’t resist giving himself a bit of self care and love with a nice pair of underwear. he couldn’t help but tell someone about it, gravitating towards one of his closer friends, but not too close. someone that doesn’t know him for the broken person he is. he needs someone a bit more lighthearted around at the moment.
