❋ twilight zone
jinyoung would like to believe that his hands were trembling because of the cold, and not because of the sight of the rundown building he was standing in front of. honestly, he’s been in this business for eight years now and haunted buildings still get to him. he would usually prefer to carry out his exorcisms in the day – because ghosts only come out at night, obviously – but he had completely forgotten about the appointment and by the time his client managed to reach him, it was already 8pm. by the looks of it, the whole neighborhood needed some spiritual cleansing but jinyoung was neither in the mood to carry out jobs for free nor was he keen on interacting with all these ghosts any more than necessary.
“okay jinyoung… it’s just a normal exorcism. you’ve done this countless of times before, right?” he mutters to himself. just as he was about to take a step into the building, he hears a tree branch snap nearby that has him scrambling backwards, away from the building, and nearly slipping on the snow. he clutches his chest, holding in a string of curse words and breathes hard, trying to calm his pounding heart. jinyoung snaps his head towards his right where the sound came from and nearly lets out a scream when he sees a silhouette walking towards him. all ready to turn around and make a run for it, he stops himself when he realizes that his “shaman senses” weren’t tingling. in fact, he couldn’t feel any malicious intent or evil aura coming from the silhouette at all.
“hello?” his voice breaks, but he doesn’t care – there’s a human in this godforsaken neighborhood and he was going to get them to come into the building with him no matter what. “t-there’s a human there, right? you’re a human, right?”
