he's classically trained in operatic singing too, and at first, the rest of the group thinks it won't translate well into pop singing but he blows them away with his honey vocals - boy has an addicting voice.

the rest of the group knows their place on the vocal tier in relation to him and develop their songs and vocal tones to support him, except for sylus, who is convinced that he's actually just as good of a singer (even though he's been designated a rapper position and given no vocal lines in their songs).

in their first year as a group, antis are convinced that rafayel's voice isn't real. they post threads in chat rooms with "evidence" that his voice is generated, fake, a ghost vocalist's etc.... so before their debut stage at their first awards show, they prepare a special stage. it's one of their popular rock-inspired songs that is vocal heavy, and they all train vigorously for it, especially rafayel.

with an audience of fans of different groups at the awards show, a lot of them are skeptical of rafayel's vocals - they don't think a rookie idol would be able to perform such an intense song without a vocal backtrack. but the group proves them wrong. instead of an instrumental backing track, they play with a live band, and have no vocal backtrack at all. in the final chorus of the song, they've added an ad lib for rafayel, something not in the original recording. the instruments stop, except for the drums, so you can hear it clearly: a sustained, strong high note followed by a difficult riff, something even his seniors would have trouble with, but rafayel executes it perfectly. the audience is captivated, and the cheers almost drown him out, even before he finishes the ad lib. the rest of the boys watch him proudly, with sylus looking at one of the cameras, tapping his in ear monitor and shrugging smugly as if to say "see? we told you so." their antis are oddly silent after that.

I just have to share this ideaa I just had, just hear me out! Sylus is into role-play! You guys see my vision?
