We need to talk about the fish tank.
Yes, the fish tank exists in the background of some of the lounge backgrounds, but it's not the focus of any key image or animation in the game. But in the anime, it's used almost every time they want to break up a sequence of talking heads, or don't have time to animate every lip flap. The fish are now in BOTH intro and credits sequences, since the new end credits dropped with episode 8.
And why is the aerator… Like That? Why is it a massive fake rock, bigger than a person's head, that unfolds into sections that are lit around their edges, to release its bubbles? With more blue lights embedded in its underside? Sure, it could be futuristic aquarium art, but they seem to really love to show it… almost like they're planting it, the absurdly extra way it works, and the possibly-robotic fish in our memories, for later… What are they setting up?
