Out if curiosity: opnions on the aermerea speices if you have heard of it?

never did it looks like your typical kenomimimi species with too many species and traits and the in-game currency goes to the ten thousands which is honestly unnecessary. but in the currency you can get a common myo for about a fully illustrated drawing with background and up to rare for 3 full illustrations with backgrounds which is pretty good. a single drawing can net you a fuckton of trait upgrades too

it looks pretty damn generic but it's at least put together decently without a lorekeeper even and a responsive shop and what look like a functioning discord system for things. things look achievable and putting in work rewarding but that's from an outside perspective. it looks like it'll actually respect my time though but take with a grain of salt because they do have a page where they sell the in-game currency exactly how mobile games do it literally like fucking gaiaonline

pros - not a big grind for in-game currency - has a working site with accessible information - very cheap myo prices (absolute highest i saw was 50usd, lowest is like 3usd) - lots of reading/possible lore - pets, npcs, longevity

cons - generic as hell looking - fuckton of tabs to read through/not all information is relevant - fuckton of specific traits - discord-only

the aermerea CS is just awful. they conduct themselves with an extreme lack of professionalism and insensitivity (for some reason they felt the need to bring up a recent mass shooting to justify the ban on drawn guns, even though a simple “no guns are allowed” would suffice). It once took them half a year to grant my friend an myo despite the constant reminders. (1/?)

I had originally joined this group excited by the thought of a friendly, community-driven species only to later find myself in a hostile, unwelcoming environment driven by greed. The patronizing passive-aggressiveness shown by Kizu and Kira is manipulative and belittling.

They attempt to take the moral high ground to assume authority over you and assert their “leadership”, despite their moderation being laughable at best. When concerns are brought to their attention, they are unwilling to compromise. They do not perceive it to be an open discussion, but rather an attack on their character.

The species claims to be founded by its community, when in reality it is only after the community’s money. It constantly searches for any source of funding. I experienced this firsthand when I was accepted as an artist into Aermerea, only to be hit with artist fees that were never disclosed to me beforehand.

No species I have ever participated in as an artist asked for a cut of my work— let alone 20% (a fifth of the earnings stacked on top of the egregious PayPal tax)— and yet Aermerea claims this to be standard amongst popular closed species.

Hot take, but I HATE turn-in events. As someone who deals with poor time management, the idea of having to design your MYO for a certain limited amount of time before it gets voided really frustrates me. This is why I get immediately burnt out by Aermerea especially with the addition of their new species.
