As a Wolverine, “Fetid Buckeye” amuses me to no end. My middle school had a bunch of these trees growing in front - my grand aunts always liked it when I brought them buckeyes, since carrying them on one’s person is said to reduce arthritis and rheumatism.
Fruit of the yellow buckeye (top) and Ohio buckeye. The yellow buckeye’s exterior is smooth, and the fruit are key ID characteristics.

Similar to European Horse Chestnut, wands of Buckeye are highly effective Defence Against the Dark Arts wands, and like competitive wixes, and those with a taste for daring. Similarly their magic matches this, and likes being pushed to do new things. Like Chestnut wands in Europe, Buckeye wands can vary a lot depending on the core, with more passionate cores like Dragon can create a tendency to viciousness, while more mellow cores such as Unicorn instead give the wand some restraint and a taste for justice.
