3rd entry for the dragons

Weeks had passed since then. He’d left her, barely breathing, barely living. The Berserker nurse had said nothing when she woke up in her infirmary, only warning her to take better care of herself. Luvia had barely heard her, her mind elsewhere as she stared at the bandages that covered her arms and felt beneath her clothes.
She didn’t find him that day. Or the next. Only at night, when she was sleeping, did she somewhat see him. Not the Servant himself but rather his terrible eyes. Ones that seemed to watch her from the shadows from the deepest recesses of her mind. They plagued her, and every night she’d wake, breathing hard, screaming, from yet another nightmare.
She had cried plenty since then. Angry at herself for being so foolish, for not listening-
Should I make you regret ever wanting such a thing?
-to him. Afraid of seeing him again, of seeing that monster again. But regret? Did she regret it? She had asked herself that ever since, until-
She found him. Took a seat by him and she had reached out to him, touched him again. Gentle and forgiving. She should have known better. Shouldn’t have put him in that situation.
“It’s...been a while, hasn’t it?” even though he said he hadn’t really minded, she still kept her hands to herself, fiddling with them in her lap as she tried to talk to him like nothing had ever happened between them.
Her voice still has traces of fear in it, and she doesn’t quite look at him, concentrating instead on the wall, amber eyes somewhat glassy. “I’ve been thinking...you know? About...” her voice falls flat and she ducks her head, bangs obscuring her face. And she says nothing for a while, gathering her thoughts, counting her heartbeat.
At the 53rd, she finally turns to face him, and takes his hands in hers, feels the sharp tips of his claws, and looks up to where his gaze lies hidden. “I don’t regret it.”

The larger Rider could not help but grin as she hopped lightly onto his chariot. He was a man meant for battle, even in life. The King of Conquerors had taken to the field with gusto even in his first battle and that ferocity and cunning that never knew defeat in life transitioned to his prowess as a Heroic Spirit.
He was more than a match for most but even his considerable power needed back-up. Medusa had been carefully chosen to compliment that it would seem. He certainly did not mind. She was certainly unlike the monster of the tale he had read as a youth growing up. There was something rather human or at least human-like about her. Though that could be said about all those in the stories he read as a boy. In many cases, that was the point.
The great bulls propelled the chariot onward, thundering forth toward their next goal.
“Do they? And here I was wondering if you were going to engage in stoicism for the entirety of our little outing. Or are you perhaps one of those who ‘see little point in idle words?’“
‘ your constant love and respect has given me incredible strength and confidence. ’ cu @ emer
“where did that come from?” she had just started to get ready for her duties when her husband’s voice reached her. emer turned around to look at him before she sighed. “I didn’t do much - you were the one leaving for your training and becoming our strongest warrior. I did not wield the spear for you, all I could do was wait for your return.”
partly, that was still all she could do. she envied women who were able to wield a weapon well enough to go to battle themselves but that was not her role in all of this.
“you were the one to earn my love and my respect… although there is one thing I never told you:
my love and my respect was yours from the first moment we met, Sétanta and it will be yours for as long time lasts and even beyond that.”

“Half hearted? Oh no, if you hold back for a moment my dear Rider, I do not expect you to be able to move once we are done.” Continuing on her way, the woman lead her companion towards the training area that Chaldea had provided for the Servants if they wished to spar.
“I must say though, many blades for a Rider? An interesting skill set you hold, may I inquire as to what kind of power you hold?” This was more of a post sparring question, but her interest had been piqued by this man. And of course, the more they knew about one another, the better they could fight as a team.

“ you've got a face on the inside too your paranoia's probably worse. ”
On how he found himself in this situation, it was difficult to remember.
He had accompanied her to her room to give himself assurance that she would be okay. Not that she needed to rest– Brynhildr was a strong woman and he wouldn’t deny it– even so, the fatigue that was more than obvious in her personage had proved itself to be a challenge to ignore. And so he’s there, sitting alongside her and exchanging a few words as she took gentle sips on her tea. And him, with legs crossed and his eyes set on the floor– still avoiding having to meet her gaze.
He pondered about her statements and wondered completely how all of these happened. Their reunion was the most unpleasant thing that ever occurred between them, so the him of that time couldn’t have imagined them being close like this from a mile away. Close– her body so near to him, yet there was an evident wall that separated them. How could he break it? How could he come up with the right words to describe to her how it nagged and tugged on his mind as well? That even if he did not want to picture her face amidst the things he do–
She’s just… there, and she never left.
The hand that rested on his thigh was beginning to shake. The desire was imminent, and so was the ardent affection that begged to be given to her. To touch her and amaze himself in her wonder… how good of a feeling it must be. Was this the point of the visit? For her to let him know that he was not alone in his thoughts? That there is something that they are beginning to share? It terrified him to the brim, yet a part of him wanted to hear more.
“I often think about you, too.”
✕ How strange for him sit right there... his knee only inches away from where her thigh lay flat against her bed... and to feel as though it’d be impossible to touch him. Thank the greater gods for the tea held in her hands... her fingers longed to reach for him, to feel his skin beneath her fingertips as she had imagined it, to feel his fingertips and claws on her skin, the way she had imagined it... a hitched breath in the dark... The way she had thought of him put a blush on her pale and cold cheeks. Even as the greatest heroes of history passed her, her thoughts had been on Fenrir... during the day... during the night... The fallen Valkyrie hadn’t even looked another hero in the eyes lately, too busy... with her thoughts.... She had stopped questioning it long ago... He intrigued her... in a way she had never been intrigued before... She was drawn to him... She had never felt so compelled to make someone hers before... and she wanted to be his... but... she was so afraid that she had been imagining all this... She was so afraid that she had mistaken him... and that he only thought of her as a troubled thing in need of a watchful eye...
Brynhildr had caught his glances to her, she had heard the shift in his voice over time. A far change from when he had sunk his fangs into her throat and she had buried her spear into him in return... Had the former goddess only been driven to this by her madness...? Attraction, lust, blood, pain --- it all felt real enough to her... she could never trust herself... ... ... So she raised her eyes when he admitted that he thought about her, too... and she wondered if his thoughts were anything like hers...
This undeniable... all-consuming... attraction...
What if... she just... sat aside her tea... and crawled over to him... straddled his form and pressed her cold lips to his jaw, his throat... lined his chest with her own... Would he put his arms around her...? Push her off of him...? These thoughts... flashed before her eyes... She could do that... She could see it... She imagined herself on top of him, gentle, being good to him... so good... a spark down her spine and into her stomach... She blushed and looked back down at her tea, pressing her knees together before crossing her legs, uncomfortable and embarrassed. She shouldn’t think about that. Not right here. Not while he was right there. Gods forgive her, why were they in her room on her bed, why were they alone.
Her voice was quiet and dreamy, but breathless due to her blacker thoughts... and afraid of any and every answer she may receive, “... What.. do you think about...? ... Fenrir... About... me...?”
