Oh Aetlution... I'm so sorry [Aetlution + Dyn]

Cyndyn entered the hall carefully, glancing around as she shut the door behind her with a soft click. "Haneth? Lady Haneth? Lord Thorvall? Is anyone here?" She trailed off, hugging a basket filled with baked goods close. "I brought something for Yule.." She called, pausing in the entry way.
Aetlution fiddles with the bread for a moment before shrugging and taking a bite. Just as Cyndyn calls out, he swallows and swears under his breath. He slowly turned and folded his arms, then shook his head. "No one's here, I've been waiting for Thorvall for a couple of hours now."
Cyndyn 's features paled at the sight of Aetlution, her hands closing around her middle reflexively. She swallowed hard, shaking as she backed away and bumped into the pillar. "A-Aetlution." She whimpered, her brows pinched high upon her forehead. She dropped the basket, the scones and biscuits falling to roll on the floor.
Aetlution sighed as the basket hit the floor, looking over his shoulder a moment to clear a seat before resting on the table. "I believe he'll be here in an hour or so..." He reached into his hood to scratch his head. "I'm uh...sorry for the terms we parted on."
Cyndyn 's features reddened and she marched forward with as much of a stomp as her slight figure could allow. "Sorry!? You're SORRY!?" She all but shrieked as she stopped before him, her hands on her hips. She had gained more weight since he had last seen her, her dress stretched and patched around her curves now. "You shot my dog! You wounded my husband! And you PUSHED me! Y-You-"
She made a strangled sound at the back of her throat, glaring at him. "I /begged/ for your safety. When Vini was angry, jealous because I had LOVED you. I cried over you for months! I refused any aid, any comfort for want of you! I cried myself to sleep more times than I can count and you come back, alive! And you.. you start with sprouting how you loved me and how much you care... and a-and then you attack us for no reason! Vini has done -nothing- to you! NOTHING!"
Aetlution sighed and offered a small shrug. "Well...you're not completely wrong. I may have....overdone things a bit." He then looked her in the eye before shaking his head. "But I knew before I even returned that I had probably lost you. And that was fine, but I heard stories of Vini that didn't exactly make him sound that great." He then stood up off the table. "What I did wasn't to try and fix any issue between you and I. It was to let him know that if he hurt you, I would kill him." He then sighed as he suddenly slumped back to the table. "It wasn't till after the fact that I realized I had essentially done just that. And for that, I am sorry."
Cyndyn stared at him, her eyes going wide and her lips parting in shock. She exhaled a shaky, pent up breath of air, her hands curling into fists at her sides. Her features flashed red with a flush and she ground her teeth together. "Let him know!? LET HIM KNOW!?" She had elvated her voice to a near scream that she choked on in her rage. She coughed, pointing a trembling finger at him as she closed the distance between them to try to jab it at his chest.
"What were you /thinking/?! Did you think?! You -talk- to someone when you want to communicate to them! Not shoot them filled with arrows!" She hissed, "What if you shot something vital? What if you killed him? Did you think of that?" She spat, her eyes welling with tears. "No, I suppose that would have been perfectly acceptable to you. To kill a man just because I love him! It's just like you-you /men/ to do that! As if it's all some kind of game to try to claim me! Never mind that it would leave me stranded in the woods and PREGNANT!" She screamed the last words at him, her chest heaving as she broke down into sobs and hung her head.
Aetlution simply winced a little bit as he faced the full bearing of the verbal barrage, though he also knew he had it coming. At the last of it his eyes widened slowly, quickly darting to her pregnant before his face quickly frowned in defeat. "I...I didn't know Dyn, I was just trying to keep you safe, not...reclaim you." He slowly pushed back his hood. "I failed in that, completely."
Cyndyn sniffled, rubbing her eyes as tears trickled down her cheeks in a torrent. She looked up at him through watery blue eyes as she stared at him, sniffling and gasping for air. "I-I.." She hiccupped, "L-loved you s-so m-much." She coughed, sniffling and sobbed between her clasped hands. "W-We were g-going.. to.. to be ma-arried. T-This.. w-was s-upose to b-be us." She sobbed out, her frame trembling.
Aetlution gently reached out to help steady her, and slowly lowered his head so that his resting on her's. "The thought of you and that life was all that kept me alive for those years I was absent. And even though I knew what could and would happen...I panicked when it happened. In trying to prevent my fears of what could happen to you, I did you every wrong I could of." He then slowly pulled his head back. He'd reach up slowly to wipe away her tears. "I can never fully fix my own past, but...know that life was the only one I ever really wanted."
Cyndyn cried harder as he swept her up into an embrace and spoke softly to her. She sagged against his embrace, her voice barely a tearful warble. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." She whimpered, "I waited.. I waited so long. Even when.. when Vini took me to Harad.. I was waiting for you." She whispered, "B-but then it was years.. and you never came back and I-I started to love him.. a-and Vini was /there/... h-he.. you were dead." She hiccuped, "You were dead and never coming back.." She broke down over the last word, choking for lack of air on it. She coughed, spluttering hard, her face red. "A-and I'm so sorry.."
Aetlution smiles softly and shakes his head, lifting her face by her chin. "You had every right Dyn. I just...wished I had made it back quicker. Or not have had it happen at all...". He fixed her hair with a careful hand, before nodding slightlly. "I wish I had gotten to spend all of that time with you, but I couldn't get out of it quickly enough." He then smiled again. "But you'll still have a good life."
Cyndyn sniffled, her eyes still wet with tears as he traced his hand through her hair to set it back in place. She leaned forward on her toes, her heart wrenching painfully. "Say you'll be there.. please.. stay in my life. If.. if it's too much.. I understand." She whispered thickly, "I-I still love you.. even if it's not what it used to be." She leaned forward to try to press a chaste kiss to his cheek.
Aetlution can't help but smile as she settles back down, before shaking his head. "Of course not. I would be happy to." He let both his arms drop to her hands, and he gave them both a small squeeze. "You'll make a great mother."
Cyndyn smiled through her tears, sniffling softly. She returned the squeeze, a small laugh escaping her lips as she dropped her gaze to them. "I'm scared, Vini says that I shouldn't be.. but I am. I never knew my mother.. so I don't know what to do, or what not to do. It's frightening, Aetlution. So very much so. T-thank you, for.. for still willing to be around. It.. it matters so much to me.. I missed you. I was so angry.. and sc-cared." She whispered. She drew back before she made to embrace him tightly, trying to throw both arms around him wildly. "I should go, but.. but please.. take care.. You should come over and.. and we can talk. Please, say you'll come? Vini just got us a house.."
Aetlution laughed as he opened his arms to embrace her, returning the tight squeeze. "Absolutely...and I never stopped loving you either Dyn. But we'll make things work with how they are."
Cyndyn 's smile warmed as she buried her cheek against his chest and exhaled a happier sounding sigh than she had in his presence in recent memory. She nodded, drawing back after a moment as she looked up to his eyes. "You'll have to come over soon. Don't be a stranger. I've finally got a kitchen all to myself! I've worked so hard on it-" She paused, "Oh, blast! I need to get back home I only meant to stop in.." She trailed off, reaching up toward his features, her gaze softening. "Take care, and have a happy Yule, Aetlution." She whispered, drawing back to turn and leave.
Aetlution smiled as his arms and hands slowly drifted away from her. "I'll see you soon Dyn..." He then blinked as he realized the season. "And happy Yule, you deserve it."
