Gone (Past Snippet)
Cyndyn sighed, reaching up to twist a piece of hair between her fingers. "Aetlution went out on a scouting mission and the others came back.. He didn't.." She whispered softly.
Cenaith bowed his head and let out a quiet sigh "I am sorry to hear that. I know you two were friends." he pushed a glass and a jug of mead across the table. "Drink. To his memory at least."
Elanwen sighs. "I am so sorry, Dyn. They are sure of what happened to him?"
Thorvall offered a small smile of greeting to Cyndyn, the smile however, faded. Silently, he too raised his mug.
Cyndyn bit her lower lip, hiding her features behind a curtain of blond hair as she untied her ponytail. "They don't know what happened, but he didn't show up when he was supposed to.. Maybe they'll find him still.." She ignored the offer of mead, her arms wrapping around her middle.
Elanwen attempts to put a comforting hand on Dyn's shoulder. "I am truly sorry. I don't wish to give false hope, but you never know."
Cyndyn leaned into the comforting hand upon her shoulder. "He was going to meet my grandparents and ask for.. for permission.." She fell silent, biting her lower lip. "He has to be alive still.. I can't believe otherwise."
Cenaith pushed his mug away nodding slowly "Aye do not give up hope. You never know what may happen after all. But if he has... At least his deeds will live on. Just as the memory of him will live on in you."
Elanwen pushes her chair back. "Don't give up hope. Not yet. In time...maybe.”
