Samuel stood in the room of his little cabin next to the bed watching her sleep. They would need a proper house at some point, but for now this was perfect. The moon shone through the window as the trees rustled in the forest outside. He was next to it, arms crossed as he looked down upon her. She was in a deep sleep. Her chest rising and falling in a slow steady pattern.
She was beautiful. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Even as she slept. Her hair seemed perfect. Her facial features lit by the moon were more elegant than a make-up painted face he was so used to seeing on women. He wanted to climb in next to her, run his fingers along her skin, and he would soon, but for now he just wanted to admire her. He felt complete now. So lucky that he had this woman in his bed, all to himself. His gaze drifted from her face to her outstretched wrist where the rope was still tightly around it feathered and secured to the wooden bed he had made. Finally, all to himself. And that’s how it would stay.
