American school system bc still trash and don't know how Japanese science labs work??
It was the first day of her freshman year and Sakura couldn't believe her luck. Lack of luck, to be exact, because everything that could go wrong had gone terribly, horribly wrong. The worst part was she didn't have a single class with Ino. The best part was that the day was almost over.
It was an advanced chemistry class for her, but normal level for juniors. She had hoped Sasuke would be taking the class but anyone would've been a blessing at this point. Sakura quickly scanned the faces as she looked for a seat, but not one was familiar and there was only one seat available. It wasn't until she sat down that it became evident why.
The guy was gloomy, had that air of "don't touch me," not unlike Sasuke. Oh, if only Sasuke was taking this class with her.
Class began and, as her luck declined throughout the short time, it was revealed that their seating was now permanent and lab partners were assigned accordingly.
“Don’t expect me to do all the work, brat,” her new partner muttered. Sakura grit her teeth and clenched her fists under the table. Unbelievable.
It was going to be a long semester.
Except, it wasn’t that bad. Their little pair was significantly more productive and had better results than most of the class, with the exception of Sasuke’s older brother and a girl named Konan.
It had been twenty two days (Sakura had been counting, waiting for it to all fall apart) when something very unexpected happened.
“Wife, pass me the test tube,” Sasori said while painstakingly added drops of a solution to their experiment.
“Un-fucking-believable,” Sakura muttered, passing him the appropriate test tube. They should’ve thanked their lucky stars that she didn’t break it in her hand.
“We’re practically married,” he explained, completely unfazed. He swirled the solution and added it to the test tube.
Was it better? Was it worse? Sakura couldn’t say for sure but damn, it was different.
