India has qualified for the Asian Cup five times, with their first appearance being in the 1964 Asia Cup and the latest in the 2019 Asian Cup hosted in the United Arab Emirates.
The Indian national football team is participating in the biggest continental football tournament, the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar, starting on January 12. The team was placed in Group B alongside Australia, Syria and Uzbekistan.
