there is a brilliance to the song "i will survive" in how it demonstrates an anxious avoidant breakup from an anxious attached relationship. it shows ambivalent affect. while our singer/protagonist of the song claims they are over the relationship, they keep repeating this in a way that shows they feel more of an ambivalence. maybe they would go back if they weren't with someone else, however they are fully aware that the affect left on them from this past relationship was overall unhealthy at a certain point
